Viagra vs Alprostadil injection

I'm 75. 100mg Viagra gives me about 60 percent erection for
about 7-10 minutes. Dr is recommending using 40 units of
Alprostadil. Is that to much injection? What's your experience?

Well it depends on several issues.

The first issue is 40 units of what concentration of alprostadil. 100 ug100 units is 1 ml or cc. In other words the are 100 units (ug100) per ml or cc. So saying 40 units by itself doesn't mean much. If you're talking an Edex 40 cartridge then it's simple as those are 40 mcg of alprostadil per ml of saline and the cartridge contains a bit over one ml. So 40 units of an Edex 40 would be something around 18mcg of alprostadil (I didn't do the math). An Edex 20 contains only 20 mcg of alprostadil in the same one ml. Caverject is a similar name brand version.

I don't use the name brand stuff (I used to) but get a compounded mix from a somewhat local compounding pharmacy. It is mixed at 80mcg of alprostadil per ml of saline. Currently with my current batch I'm using about 15 units.

How much actual alprostadil you need to get the job done can only be determined through trial and error, working (hopefully) with your doctor. Everyone is different and your needs can fluctuate. It can fluctuate both ways.

The cause of your ED also influences the amount of alprostadil you'll need. A VL will often call for more drug as it leaks out. I think ED from surgery nerve damage remains more steady.

All of that, poorly stated as it was, I'd be shocked if you started out at 40mcg of alprostadil, especially if you get 60% on a Viagra 100. If you're prescribed Edex 40s I'd expect your doctor to start you out at maybe a quarter or less of the cartridge (25 units) so maybe 10mcg of alprostadil, and that could be too much.

But as previously mentioned, without knowing the concentration of the 40 units you're talking about we don't really have any idea.

I wish I could get a 60% boner on pills!

my self i take 2 100 viagra tablets and 20mg of edex and 20 is almost to much as far as my cock swelling to the point that it aches but i kinda like the feeling. also after i get my nut dick stays up for at least 2 hours , but if i can pee it goes down a lot faster after you pee, just a heads up i had double by pass open heart sugery 3-20-2020

Thanks for your reply. He prescribed Alprostadil 40mcg.
He suspects venous leak. I will discuss dosage in my visit this week
when he shows me how to inject.
