My doctor tells me it was 27cm total from start to finish. 22cm with three 1.5 rte's. I think it's two girthy but it hangs well. But I'm only 6 months out. Up to 7.5 erect probably 7.0 not fully pumped. After full erection. Don't really see hinging. Hard as a rock but I tore my wife. It's not like the natural one it was beautiful but this one will do the trick. The bulging is unbelievable. I haven't really figured that one out yet but I'm working on it.

Thanks for the info Larry.

As far as my girlfriend accepting it or not, it is definitely up to her. If she doesn't, I will find another one, no problem. I understand it could be different for others with additional attachments to their partner, not my particular case. As a matter of fact, I might want to be single again to make up for botched past opportunities. Being young, looking good, well employed, with a thick hard dick, great cardio and some creativity, I must admit I already envision being single for the next decade.

Principle, please make your choice based on what you have read and what is best for you, not what others have written, esp. me. My experience is MY experience. If you have suffered with ED for a long time, science/medicine has made progress.
Any choice you make is not without its drawbacks.
I have done both a semi and 3 piece. If the semi was good enough (long enough and was able to put away), I would have stopped there, but with my circumstance of infection and issue with stowage, it was not right for me. I am just glad I am in a situation that I could afford it.
IMHO, since a semi is very simple, just bendable rods in your penis and nothing else to worry about, I would say go for this, but I don't know your circumstances.
My 2nd Dr definitely short changed me, despite showing him my previous size through pics. I am happy with what I have right now. Good luck.

If your girlfriend's attachment to you is entirely for sex, my girlfriend will GUARANTEE that after a successful implant, she will NEVER want to leave you. :D

(Unless it is for another implanted man.)

My girlfriend says I have spoiled her (and this is aside from her non-sexual affection for me). I am a truly fortunate man.

I think I read in your jornal that in your surgery notes you got from your Dr. it mentioned that you had the genesis semirigid installed and not the Tactra. Is that correct?

That's really encouraging. I sure hope that's the case. If not, no problem. Next, please.

principles wrote:Hello everyone!

I have a decision to make regarding which implant to have installed. Before I continue, it's important that I tell you that my stretched flaccid is 19cm and my insurance does not cover IPP's, only malleables.

Not being in the US, and due to my country's health and import bureaucracy, I have the following options available to me:

1)Coloplast Titan (max size available is 22cm + 7.5cm of RTE's).
Due to my stretched flacid being 19cm+, and using the heuristic of having approximately 1/3 of my penis proximal, it is fair to say that I could have atleast 8cm inside of me. Therefore, it is possible that I require an implant of 19-1+8 = 26cm or even more (-1 due to the fact that the cilinder will hopefully reach just 1cm short of the tip of my glans). Suppose 26cm is the size of the prosthesis I require, using a 22cm Titan, that would make the inflatable portion 17cm, and that would also make the inflatable portion start 1cm outside of me, which could produce the dreaded 'hinge effect'. The rigidity factor of this particular case would be 17/26 = 65%. Compare this to a 26cm Titan with no RTE's and it's rigidty factor of 81% and atleast 3cm of inflatable implant proximal.
So, I do have the Titan as an option, but with the limitations mentioned above. Also, for the Titan being an inflatable, that would mean I would have to pay for the prosthesis with my own money. Approximately $10k.

2)Coloplast Genesis 13mm Malleable
All the pros and cons of the malleable are known, so I'll just skip it. For this prosthesis, my insurance would cover it's cost.

3)AMS 700CX
Unaware of the sizes available, but likely wouldn't be available in the 24cm size. Also, approximately 20% more expensive than the Titan and doesn't over the girth nor the axial rigidity that the Titan does. Therefore, I'm not interested as of now.

4)Getting implanted in the US
Not even a current possibility due to recent covid related travel restrictions. Also, it would increase total cost by more than 60%.

Bare in mind that Rigicon, Tactra and most other offerings are not presently available in my country. Also, my insurance covers hospital costs and malleable prosthesis. It does not cover the cost of the medical team and the inflatable penile prosthesis. The surgeon I'm in contact with does work with both types of implants and he's a medium volume surgeon. There are no high volume surgeons where I live as far as I know. Not within my budget atleast.

In short, I'm down to options 1 and 2. Either a potentially 'hingeable', expensive and self-paid Titan or an insurance paid Genesis semirigid.

Every single input would be appreciated. Thank you all in advance!

Personally, I would rather have nothing than a malleable !!!

We need to remember that malleables are designed for a small select group of men. To that group, they are probably not as bad of an option as many may think.

Yes, you are correct, Principle. I recently requested the surgery notes from my Chesapeake Urology (all 3 surgeries). 2nd one, Dr. was all gung ho on Tactra, he ended up putting in Coloplast. Either one only stows to a 90 degree angle. When you have a 4" dick, stowage of 4" only at 90 degrees is not enough! Your dick head still rubs against your shorts/pants/underwear and when you are uncut, it is very uncomfortable...not to mention the sudden chubbies you get that makes things even more uncomfortable.
