I went for a repeat Doppler today after the first one suggested I had venous leak on the left side. Today they done another Doppler with a stronger injection on the left side and the doc said that it was normal and no venous leak with good arterial inflow. I asked about Peyronies and he told me that there are no plaques or scar tissue and they would be able to see that from the scan so said that I don’t need to worry about Peyronies.
The trouble is I still find it hard to maintain an erection especially when standing? I get morning wood sometimes but as soon as I stand up it disappears. I also think my sex drive isn’t what it used to be. If the doc says no venous leak and no Peyronies then what else can be causing this? I do suffer from depression and bad anxiety
Not sure what to do?
Re: Not sure what to do?
I think you answered your own question. Depression and anxiety. That can be a tough two to tackle. Get a counselor to work on those emotional issues. The good thing is you have a goal that you can convey to the Dr.

Testosterone??? My levels have to be on the high end of normal. I take 2.5cc every three weeks.
Re: Not sure what to do?
Doc said my testosterone is fine but don’t know whether to believe them? The other thing I’m finding very hard to understand is that it’s impossible for me to get an erection whilst standing up. Like literally nothing no matter how hard I try.. also when I’m having sex and stand up to change position it just dies. I used to have raging erections whenever I got up for toilet at night...this no longer happens...It doesn’t make sense to me and can’t find anything about it on internet... a lot suggest venous leak but radiologist confirmed I don’t have this.. but then again he done Doppler whilst I was lying down so maybe it’s not accurate? Another thing I’ve found is I no longer get random erections ever while walking around.. I used to get these all the time... it makes me convinced something physical is going on as I’m only 36 and I think that it’s still normal for me to get those at my age? My sex drive and desire definitely seems to be reduced but don’t know if it’s anxiety and depression or an actual physical thing happening...I can’t get any help from therapist just now because of corona and need to wait a few months so its tough thinking about this all the time.
Re: Not sure what to do?
Meant to add that My morning erections are weird Like half semi erect and never full. I just need to know if all of this can be purely psychological as it would seem weird if it was. It’s as if my guts tells me it’s physical

Yea, my testosterone was "fine" and then he put me to the high end of normal and everything was great.
Re: Not sure what to do?
I don’t think it’s that... as why would I be getting problems only when standing or on top? Can anyone else comment as this is really messing with my head

Your issues seem complex and I think the specialists are having difficulty determining what may be contributing to your ED. There is one interesting and obvious thing that occurs when you stand versus lying, and that is general stress to the body.
The body has to combat the effects of gravity much more so than when lying. So what could this mean in regard to your penis and its ability to become erect? The first thing that comes to my mind is sympathetic activity in the body. When you are relaxed and lying down sympathetic tone is reduced. As soon as you stand up and start performing tasks this tone becomes more active in the body. The erectile process is mainly governed by parasympathetic action. If you have a condition whereby sympathetic activity is in a heightened state in the body, erections can become more difficult to achieve and or maintain.
Depression and anxiety can influence the flight and fight response in the body greatly. If your anxiety is apparent most of the time during your waking hours, your body will most likely be in an exaggerated sympathetic mode. Norepinephrine may be circulating in excessive levels.
This constant stress in the body may also influence other hormone levels in the body. Cortisol can rise, testosterone levels may also drop to low normal.
I have discussed adrenergic tone in the penis in many of my previous posts, this may be useful for you to read.
Depression and anxiety can wreak havoc in the body, so it may be a good idea to have this treated and the other issues may resolve on their own.
Did you find out what your hormone test results were?

Re: Not sure what to do?
What you have said is almost exactly what I’m subconsciously thinking is happening but don’t know the science behind it. It’s as if I can Feel the anxiety and adrenaline circulating
My body constantly and up to about a year ago I never had this physical effect of my anxiety and depression on my body..I’m easily startled and Muscles sensitive to touch and shake a lot when I do anything...I never had this before..I could be suffering ptsd from the past but haven’t been Diagnosed with this. It’s as if my brain isn’t engaging with my penis properly and that effect worsens to a greater extent when I stand up.
Thanks so much for explaining this in the detail you have, it’s helped put my mind at rest a great deal! I will have a look at your other posts. Thanks a million!

Re: Not sure what to do?
Ps my testosterone tests the doc said were ok, but I am going to ask him to redo them and get the readings. I will post them up here when I get them.
