If you have heightened sensitivity to adrenergic tone in the erectile tissues, performance anxiety would be more of an issue for you than for someone who does not have this sensitivity. It could be that you just have performance anxiety without the above, however, I feel most men with PA have some degree of this heightened tone.
Venous leak or CVOD is a broad condition encompassing many erectile dysfunction causes. Sympathetic hyperactivity could be considered one of the many causes of CVOD, as it prevents the erectile spaces in the penis from relaxing sufficiently to cause venous occlusion. I think you have hit on a point that needs to be shouted from the rooftops! When my wife and I have sex we try to make sure there are no interruptions or distractions of any kind!!! The slightest distraction can turn our intimate time into a nightmare. No cell phones no anything! We have our lovemaking music and that is it. No door bells, no knocking end of story. We’ve been married for almost 36 yrs and we have these days marked on the calendar. THIS IS OUR PRIVATE TIME! NO INTERRUPTIONS PERIOD! This usually leads to wonderful productive Time alone !
