Andrew, Stop worrying! Start looking forward to your new you! What you are not reading is how many of us have had implants for YEARS without issue. You will be fine, just as long as you follow the surgeons directions, avoid early inflating and making sure the surgical site id clean and not infected. After the healing and after the go ahead to resume sexual as activity, you will be fine! Ah, to be your age again with an implant! Keep us posted! Gods blessings!

Definitely do it. You are way too young to not enjoy the gift we men got.
I'm sure at your age you'll end up getting a replacement somewhere down the road anyway. From what I see here the revisions or replacements are way easier to handle than initial surgery. But you are on a good start reading posts here at FT. Ask the uro you select the right questions.

It’s like anything… There’s always going to be a couple of people who have problems… I’m included in that list but, be an optimist about it… I just went through it… Leaving your 20s without erections really sucks… so many of the guys here have had no problems at all… There’s guys here like me who have a lot of pre-existing conditions and that was a big part of the problem… We are all different… Go into it with an open mind and I’m sure you’ll be good…

I'm in my 60s now and if I'd had knowledgeable doctors when I was in my 20s life would have been much different. I've managed to slog along with venous leak but can hardly wait for Li'l Alfa to get a rebuild.

I thought early inflating is necessery to remain size, but maybe i'm wrong.

@Andrew i wish you all the best!

Early inflation cycling is helpful in retaining size. Pre-op vacuum therapy is also helpful, as is leaving the operating room with nearly full inflation. (My surgeon left me at 80% full.)

Every little bit helps. Early cycling is painful. Post-op inflation is uncomfortable, too and creates the potential for the reservoir to be encapsulated with scar tissue that inhibites full deflation for the rest of your life.

Discuss with your surgeon...extensively...until you both fully understand each other and your trepidation is minimized.

I can only tell you that my surgeon, the head of Urology at Mayo Clinic in Florida, did not recommend nor even mention a VED. It may be designed for guys with Peyronie's or other scarring or other issues, but, my penis was fine and quite lengthy already. As for cycling, again, DO WHAT YOUR SURGEON says, not what we might "think" is cool or awesome or what we saw on some other site! When I left the hospital, I too was partially inflated and stayed that way for several weeks until MY SURGEON defated it after the swelling went down. When I was shown how to inflate and deflate ther ed was minimal discomfort but my wife and i and the nurse were thrilled by the size increase of cycling. Do what the surgeon says, plain and simple.
