Revision: LGX to CX

Postby jerseyhulk » Tue Jun 30, 2020 11:02 pm

Hello my fellow brethren. I wanted to reach out to the community and get your input on this. I had a revision yesterday after my AMS 700 LGX exploded in my penis in January. Unfortunately, the virus hit and I was forced to wait until yesterday to receive my revision. I would pump with a VED to maintain my size. My concern is, for some reason I was implanted with a CX for my revision rather than my LGX. The cylinders are the same size, 21 cm x 12 mm. Does anybody know the reasoning behind this. Is this common practice? The RTE appears to be 4 cm. I think they are larger than my LGX RTE, if I remember correctly it was 2 cm. My implant failed after 4 years. I don’t know how to feel about AMS anymore. And I really loved my LGX and they swapped out the cylinders now. Thinking if I have to do it again I’m going with a Coloplast next time. I appreciate y’all input on this and why this was done. I go back in about 4 weeks and will find his reasoning of this. Thanks!

The CX is more robust from my doctor's opinion, than the LGX. Not to say anything bad about the LGX but my doctor said when I asked him about the length expansion, that he didn't implant LGX because it wasn't as reliable as the CX.

That was one doctor's opinion, not based necessarily in the evidence, but nonetheless that's what he said.

Perhaps if you got your revision from a different doctor than your original LGX, he too is of that same opinion.

Looks like you were upsized by 2 cm. Curious to know the reasoning too.
28 year old with severe lifelong ED.
Implanted in New Delhi on 26/12/19 with AMS CX (15x12) + 4cm RTE
Post op length 4.5 inches from ~ (5.5 to 6) inches. Disappointed!
Wish to have a revision to LGX some day.

I'm curious how he got a 2 cm upgrade also. Was your previous implant tips in the mid glans, even if it had failed at the base? Would think that may mean the penile length was actually shorter than the original implant, so wouldn't expect that kind of upsize. That's about an inch extra length, and it's hard to imagine someone's dick if sized right the first time being able to take on a whole extra inch from one surgery

Four years of the implant might have stretched the penis' tissues 2 cm. I admit it is a bit of a stretch to credulity (no pun intended), but it could happen. The usual increase is much less.

It is common for a revision to use a longer replacement than the original. Whether that translates to a longer usable penis length is open to question. Not well documented in the medical literature, but there is at least one paper that mentions it.

There is also the potential that the labeling of the implant is different for the LGX and the CX. Since the LGX lengthens when inflated, that could be it. Unfortunately, this question is bound to be obfuscated by AMS' marketing department.

Maybe you grew from stretching like is common… Maybe it’s because the LGX grows as you inflate… Your new implant does not? either way, you got some length! Got a love it

I’m just glad to have finally got my revision. I did a little research on the subject and there are a few reasons that could of led to my doctor implanting the CX over the LGX. This information was actually published. All in all the final decision ultimately lies in the doctor you choose. And I have complete trust in mine. The first job he did was more than excellent and I believe the revision will be the same. I would recommend Gerard Henry to anyone, he is really among the best. I will update my signature, I need to find my old paperwork.

LGX + cowgirl position, especially if your girl get a bit excited or switches to reverse cow girl = cylinder aneurysm and premature revision in a matter of months. LGX does not have the axial rigidity that the CX and the Titans have.

He had the LGX which expands the length. My LGX has expanded me about an inch and a half and girth over 1 inch.
