Trimix frozen in syringes

Postby Beachdude » Mon Jul 20, 2020 3:31 pm

As many on the board have done, I would like to pre-fill my syringes with my dosage and freeze them, thawing one as I need it. Just a couple of quick questions on the subject. Does freezing in the syringe cause any problems with the Trimix expanding when frozen? And secondly, how long does it typically take for a syringe to thaw for injection? Any advise is very much appreciated.

No, freezing does not significantly expand the solution. A syringe will thaw in minutes if you roll it between your palms. otherwise, i would say ten minutes or so at room temp. I suppose you could leave a little air space in the syringe for expansion and then expel the air before injection, but I have never had an expansion issue.

When filling the syringe prior to freezing, I always take in a few more units than I need for my injection. (I need 20 so I take in 24). After thawing there is often a bubble in the syringe and I want to expel it before injecting. Having a little more meds in the syringe allows for that expulsion, leaving me with enough trimix for my erection.

Thanks for the advise. Makes sense.

I had a few syringes of Trimix in the freezer and they seemed to have crystallized or precipitated. The syringe clogged and they WOULD. NOT. INJECT. Absolutely wouldn’t work. I actually snapped the plunger trying to get it to inject.

Disappointing but whatever. I just drew up a new syringe and was back in action.

Perhaps the strength/concentration of the medication in suspension is a variable.

When I was using Bi-mix, I would freeze a whole bunch, only because the prescription was for every month, and married or single, there is no guarantee you will use a whole vial in a month! That is a heck of a lot of doses, lol
After thawing, I would look at the syringe, and if there anything, and I mean anything, that looked 'off', the dose went in the trash! Dr. will tell you officially not to freeze it, but IMHO, it is to make the pharmaceutical industry $$$.
By 'off', I mean crystals or too cloudy.
As for the bubble, when 1st making the dosage, siphon off a bit more, then depress plunger to get any air bubbles out (tap/flick the syringe to get air bubbles to go to the top). The bubbles will not kill you, but it is recommended, just in case.

For what it's worth-----I only freeze the vials of trimix I am not using. I have a small single "silverware" tray in the meat/cheese tray in the fridge. I keep the vial being used along with a few filled 1/2 inch and a few 5/16 inch syringes. They are always "ready for action" and make the whole process very easy.
