I see this only as a way for CU to distance themselves from any potentially controversial or bad press. If he's not employed there, no need to answer difficult questions.

Chesapeake Urology has 850 employees, that makes it a pretty big corporation. Just a hint of controversy, in the form of an opinion given by one of their doctors, can be enough for the CEO to force you out immediately. It doesn't matter if your opinion is correct or incorrect, they don't want their business to be anywhere near political controversy. Just imagine, how scared they are to contemplate their parking lot filled with protesters calling them the "Rapists Doctors Group!" It might happen anyway, even with Kramer gone.

So, if you've got something specific, let's hear it, otherwise my take is that this is political correctness in action.

As I recall it's a blue state so the chance of protests are real. Not judging on the politics of the state but merely a comment about the chance of protests. I think the telling part is this.
He might of planned this in order to get out of a committment that he didn't like. The possible fact that he'll be in Europe teaching or practicing for 3 weeks speaks quite a bit. Hard to arrange that on short notice. I wonder if 3 weeks might be enough time to prep some new office space? I guess that we'll never know the whole story but after time we should have a decent idea.

It's hard to divine what Dr Kramer's intentions were, but he must have known that taking an outside gig would be a problem for the urology group. I bet it violated whatever contract he had with the group, but probably paid very well for his expert testimony. I would expect to see him with his own practice soon, just like the other well known implant surgeons.

One legal opinion would have been chump change for him. Unless it was one of the Sopranos, you know? /s

I had an implant from him last fall at Medicare rates, which he must think of as charity work. But, if you could have 10-20 cases per week at $20-35K, you might think about telling your group to shove off. Or doing work in Europe or on a cruise boat, or wherever. That kind of money helps your imagination a lot.

Disclaimer: I am thinking only good thoughts about him, but this has a Scott Turow feel to it.

I've had to hire an "expert" in a property dispute. At least at my level the guy only billed for his normal billing rate. Hardly got rich off of me. My take on him was that he had researched the properties history. Looked at lots of old deeds. Found the error & was willing to testify as to what he found. The fact that the family I was suing were world class asses to him & us. I think it made him happy to help correct what he saw as a wrong.
If Dr. Kramer is involved in a criminal case. Maybe there is money there to compensate him. Maybe not. Not all defendants in a criminal action are flush with cash.

Can't help find it a bit amusing how Kramer can get away with this and still have his supporters on here claiming he is the can-do-no-wrong-hero.

Asking for evidence etc... Why? And how?
Just look at things with a bit of common sense. More often than not, things are exactly what they seem to be.

Who quits his job overnight without having another setup in place? Nobody. Or at least nobody with his life and career in order. Nobody who does not have to.
So the "resign or get fired" version is most likely true.
And considering what he did, it becomes even more lilely true. Which high profile hospital (or one that aims to be) wants to be connected with a doctor who gets paid do defend an alleged rapist?
And especially one who does it with one of the worst stories I have ever heard. "He was too old (43) and too fat (more like normal built for an american based on pictures) and too drunk (sober enough to go from the country club, get the woman into her bed, and then leave again) to rape someone??? WTF??? So our friend Kramer says that nobody at age 43 with some overweight can fuck when he is drunk??? Seriously? All of us on this site can prove him wrong. A lot of men do exactly that every bloody weekend.

So he has obviously made a fool of himself for some reason and now he is paying for it.
Does that change the fact that he is probably a very good implant surgeon?
No.
But if I do a surgery, I don't only want a very skilled surgeon. I want someone with integrity, someone I can trust not only with his knife, but also trust that he has his shit outside the surgery room in order.
When I did the surgery many years ago, I deleted Perito from my list because of his law suit and shady business with strip bars etc. Not because I doubted his skill with the knife.
Now Kramer is off my list for the same kind of reasons until I have good reasons to change my view. Whether my gut feeling is right or wrong is less important. I see what I see and I hear what I hear and why take any chances with someone that apparently behaves weird.

And regarding all the comments in this post that he is still the great one, and he did not get fired, and it is ok to try to defend a rapist with these pathetic nonsense - we know Kramer had a bunch of fake accounts on this site a few years ago to promote himself. Meaning it is hard to read posts defending something like this without a healty portion of scepticism.

See things for what they are. Not what you wish they were.

Well said!!! Kramer is a lier, has fake reviews generated by himself, and he greets everyone with that fake yellow smile!! These are FACTS! He’s a SHADY character to say the least, and many physicians and surgeons in the implant community are aware of this. I was warned by another surgeon prior to selecting Kramer for my implant, but I did not listen. KUDOS to Chesapeake for tossing his unethical ass out the door! He had no choice but to leave Chesapeake or face additional news stories about him being fired!! He will now scramble to set up a new practice somewhere, and will continue his lies about his departure from Chesapeake. For all the staunch supporters of Kramer and his side of the story, continue to live in LALA LAND!! I’ve dealt with Kramer, he’s a LIER!!

Well, you are at another level of your criticism, which might be fair considered you had a bad experience with him personally.

From my distant view, I just note that this story does seem shady and I would stay away. No reason to gamble with your dick. Maybe this story is worse than it seems or maybe it is not as bad as it seems. But no smoke without a fire and I would not try to estimate whether the risk is worth taking. I would just avoid any risk I could.

Skilled surgeon in a stable setting with his shit in order is what I would be looking for. And all three boxes should be ticked, not just one.
His fake accounts on this site does unfortunately add credibility to your description of his character.

DonkeyDong10 clearly has an issue w Kramer and his "commentary" on this case is useless being that he is biased. Its also borderline defamation.

The truth is, NONE of us know any legitimate details surrounding this case apart from what is said in the article.

Dr. Kramer isn't an idiot, he isn't just going to take a random case to give expert analysis on for no reason. For all we know, this guy that is accused could have been his patient for years. He may have years of records and appointments telling him that this guy had ED for years and he wouldn't have been able to penetrate this girl (as she may be saying)).

I dont know.

You don't know.

So anyone claiming to know one way or another or projecting any type of strong emotion or commentary is shady.

Such an advocate for A man you’ve never met and have no experience with, but yet you passionately defend a man PAID to be an expert witness for an accused RAPIST. Please note, it is unheard of for a Urologist to be an expert witness in a Rape case, it’s unusual, not the norm. Please read the comments from the letter he provided the Defense, it’s beyond logic! Use some common sense for once in your life!! I’m far from biased, the facts are the facts. This man was TOSSED OUT for justified reasons! There’s so much smoke, and you refuse to see it! RESIGN OR BE FIRED.,.. Fact! Fraudulent post on Franktown and other sites orchestrated by Kramer...FACT! You refuse to use common sense! Kramer is shady and your assessment makes no sense. The media will increase once the trial starts and Kramer will be back in the news. Contact any implant surgeon and inform him/her you are considering Kramer for an implant, you will get an earful regarding the reputation Kramer has in the medical community! For your own sanity...WAKE UP!!
