Long story short, a long time ago i masturbated excessively while using a restriction ring of sorts. I did it multiple times usually in 2-8 hour sessions. I didn't take breaks as frequently as i should have and i believe this to be the root cause of my ed. Things were bad for 3 years or so and got worse once i had a bending injury with my gf.
At an anatomical level why doesn't my penis work now? I just got an ultrasound an it showed no plaque, and no venous leak, blood flow was good. I probably have some fibrosis and scarring.
Would it be possible, that being starved of oxygen too long caused my nerves to die and now i cant produce an erection because of that.I dont have nocturnal erections anymore and have decreased sensitivity to my penis compared to the rest of my body. Im getting an implant soon, and am using a ved to try and preserve size, can i regain my sensitivity?
Why wont my dick work
Re: Why wont my dick work
Well at least you have the implant to look forward to and regain erections. Sensitivity is another ball game, if nerves have been damaged it can take years for them to regenerate, and if too badly damaged may never regenerate.
Make sure you look through FT and find all the questions you need to ask the surgeon before surgery.
Good Luck

In this scenario, would oxidative stress to my nerves be different than say, a traumatic bending injury?
after the foolish masturbation sessions, i didn't immediately notice sensation loss, it kinda happened over time it seems it and has never fully recovered. However, after the bending injury, i lost a lot of sensation over night, and it seems to be coming back to where it was before.
Is there anyway for me to test nerve function?

Damage from anoxia (which I suppose is tantamount to oxidative stress) would (in my uninformed layman's opinion) be completely different, unrelated to and independent of traumatic injury.
Testing nerve function is a question for a neurologist, I think, though a urologist might have some thoughts on the matter.
I used a Vacuum Erection Device with constriction rings twice. It seemed to me that constriction rings were dangerous, especially if used more than 15-30 minutes. So, my VED use was primarily to keep flushing blood through my (non-erecting) penis and to maintain elasticity and size before getting an implant.
Discuss your situation thoroughly with a urologist who SPECIALIZES in sexual function before doing anything drastic. Good luck to you.

I have been doing some reading lately on pudendal nerve and cavernous nerve injury. It appears that stem cell therapy is showing quite positive results for the possible regeneration of nerve damage in the penis.
There is also some evidence that after radical prostatectomy chronic PDE5 inhibitor use (everyday low dose cialis/viagra) if done soon after surgery can help stop fibrosis and smooth muscle loss while the nerves regenerate, especially the cavernous nerve. They may also help this process.
