I had a Titan revision done on 7/26/17 at University of Maryland Hospital. The tubing going to the cylinders failed. I received my Medicare statement today, the hospital billed a total $22,264.51 of which $14,418.25 was for Implant/Supplies. Part of that almost has to be for the replacement Titan components. I checked the Coloplast website today and it says the penile implants have a lifetime warranty.

Before I call the hospital billing, has anyone else seen this charge on a revision?

Thanks

Since you had 2 different doc, Medicare see it as 2 separate procdures. A lot of time Medicare will pay then seek reimbursement example accident they pay then get money back from insurance. It could be same here. Who knows what arrangenents this companies have with Medicare

Thanks for the info Hugh - that is likely what happened. I think I will wait to see how BCBS handles the remainder not paid by Medicare and then decide what I should do.

I have asked AMS/Boston and Coloplast both for copies of their warranty before I was implanted. All I got was some hum hawing around and never got one. I often wonder if this is one of those non written warranties and if they can get paid from an insurance company they just sold another one deals.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Never even came up in my revision. Tossed the coloplast with waste. Put in an lgx. Some claim paid. Some written off. I was out about 500.
