It would help to actually know the percentage of failures with the pumps. Mine works well so far. I would still go with the LGX but it's your decision.

Indusvalley, I would suggest to not worry. Once the problem is identified (now). The affected inventory will be purged & destroyed. I don't see a prominent medical company selling known defective parts. I'm quite sure that they carry some kind of mal practice liability insurance. The insurance company will insist that this is to happen. By the time that you are ready for surgery this will be all over.
Now there is a very small chance that in some remote parts of the world there might be some affected inventory that gets missed. But I highly doubt that because it sounds like most of the implants are kept by the companies until needed. Thus the frequent comments about the AMS/Colopast representative was at the surgery.

However, I am more likely to go with Coloplast Titan now based on the suggestion of the Dr. The only thing I worry about is the deflated state of Coloplast Titan, is the flaccid state a few inches less than the erect state? I know with LGX it expands and shrinks a bit, but does the same thing happen with CX and Titan also?

No experience here, only what I've read. It seems that for Titans & I'm guessing the CX also. Basically they do not grow very much on inflation. I guess you could say it differently. They don't shrink a lot on deflation. However you want to say it, it's the same thing.
Having said that. I have also read that there are some men with Titans that do grow upon inflation. So I don't think it is a rule. Only general guidance. Might depend on how strong your tunica is.
Have you checked out the implant picture thread? I think that we have one.

A while back (couple years) there was a pair of pictures of a guy with a CX which showed a flaccid a LOT shorter than the erect. I found it hard to believe, but there was the evidence. So, yes, the CX (and according to many, the Coloplast devices) do retract in length between inflated (erect) and deflated (flaccid) by means of folds in the inflatable tubes (not unlike an accordion).

my surgeon informed me of the recall before my surgery on Oct 14, 2020. He gave me the choice of going ahead with a non recall pump or delaying the surgery. I went ahead with the surgery and so far so good at 2+ weeks.

Mighty nice of him. Take the AMS or walk away.
Honestly I think that you made the right choice. As long as the batch of pumps that he had available to him had been sorted.
I haven't tracked the pumps. Does AMS only have 1 pump model? Just curious.

I'm not a lawyer nor have I ever played a lawyer on TV programs......however everyday there are lawsuits against defective products. I do NOT believe that the manufacturer of the defective implants or the parts thereof can refuse to pay for the surgery & hospital costs nor your time having a revision. I suggest that anyone affected contact a medical lawsuit attorney post haste.
