My clinic and surgeon have been busy and I have an appointment Wednesday, but I would appreciate some feedback so my OCD doesn’t get the best of me (worse case stuff). I know this doesn’t replace doctor feedback, but any info is appreciated.
I am a type 2 diabetic at 43. Tried everything from oral meds to injections, so I was able to get my private insurance to pay for an implant, and I am on the 2nd week of post-op.
1. I am still experiencing sometime fairly intense “sore” feeling in the penis. It gets worse when I stand. I have been almost bed bound since this all started. Pain meds aren’t really helping. When standing it feels like intense soreness and pressure.
2. Sitting still hurts. It makes things really sore feeling.
3. When I did get a call in, they let me deflate it to see if that would help. It didn’t really help. I tried to pump it a little bit, but it is hard as can be. The bulb will on occasion pop almost like a pimple, but it gets hard really quick again. When I push the release, I can feel the buzzy feeling of it releasing fluids, but it doesn’t completely deflate. The cylinders feel hard but smaller.
If something is wrong, how common is it that I would have to end up paying for a second surgery? And if I can’t pay, do I basically have a $20k piece of junk that doesn’t work?
My OCD is going hard. I am deathly afraid this AWS 700 LCX has issues and even if the device repair is paid for, extending this pain is beyond frighting.
I have some buyer’s remorse :’(
Implant Questions
Re: Implant Questions
Hang in there. It does get better. Don't let buyer's remorse eat you up. Soon you should be doing great and enjoying the benefits.
At 2 weeks you're no doubt still swollen in your scrotum and that will subside. The bulb and cylinders should become easier to inflate (and deflate) as time goes by.

Re: Implant Questions
Well, with that recall thread, i am now in even bigger panic. :/
Re: Implant Questions
Ditto. Hang in there my friend. You are going threw the WTF did I do to myself moment. Everything hurts and aches and you're not sure if the surgery went well. I called Dr. Kramer at 1am in a panic because I thought that I had a raging infection because of a fever . Lol, it was February and I had gotten the flu post implant. Talk about panic attack. After he calmed me down, I felt so much better.
My advice, use ice / heat pad. Don't be afraid of the prescription pain meds they help a lot. Talk to yourself. Remember you did this to make yourself whole again. In two more weeks you may even smile reading your post.
Thanks.
