8 weeks post op/tip pain

I am just finishing the 8th week post op. I pump up twice/day for approx 30 min each. A couple of things.

1. The pumping goes through a series of soft and hard pumps. For instance, I pump maybe 7 times and pump bulb is hard and will not budge. I let it sit for 5 or so minutes and it frees up for a couple more pumps then gets hard again. Maybe 5 more min or more and it gets soft again and get 2 more pumps in. Then I do little pumps until it hurts. Right now to get it where I want for sex, it takes at least 10 min because pump bulb go through this series of soft/hard. I wish it would just get to a place where I could do 12 or more pumps in a couple minutes and be done.

2. The pain when fully exhausted on pumping including a few extra little pumps at the end is still kinda bad. I can only tolerate about 10 minutes. Is this normal this far out post op?

Matthew, I am experiencing the same issue. The first few pumps are somewhat easy and then then bulb is impossible to squeeze. I do manage to get more pumps but it takes 15 minutes to squeeze and wait. I do not understand why it becomes so hard to squueze. Like you, the discomfort it there and I can only stand it for about ten minutes also especially in the head where the tips are. Guess I just need to be patient and give it more time. I am no where close to wanting to take it on a test drive right now. The good thing is that it does get very hard so it is already successful the rest will come with time. Jim

Guys, I think we're experiencing the same thing. I'm at 6 weeks post-op now and the max I've pumped it is 18 pumps. I now can get to the same spot with about 10 pumps, so I think that is progress. But I also expereince some soft pumps in between and the last few pumps are very hard to pump.

Fully pumped right now, the tip is very sore and I can also tolerate about 30 minutes tops. I think i'll try sex this weekend for the first time. We'll see how that goes.

Another situation, over the past few days by right scrotum has swollen back up. It is not sore, just swollen. Now I have been sitting at the desk a lot, so wondering if this is normal and due to my sitting? Anybody experience same thing?

Not pumping yet! Day one after a 3.5 hour surgery. At least I am on the healing side of the cureve, didn't think I would ever get there. Have an alternate reservoir site and placement incision. Oh well.

Well, the pain at tips is almost totally gone. I hope that doesnt mean "expanding" is gone. I do believe there is more fluid to pump but at 17 pumps and 8 or so partial pumps, the pump gets hard and will not pump anymore. It does still take 10 min to get there because bulb will not free up to sometimes until it is left alone for a few minutes. I am afriad to push to hard.

Matthew - at 7 weeks post now, the pain in my tip is also almost gone. I tried sex this week for the first time and took it slow. It worked great. Just working on my size now. Good luck.

5 months post op and still managing to get a couple extra pumps each day. Can get 20 full pumps and then every few minutes 2-4 partial pumps. I inflate twice a day until I start to feel a little discomfort and leave it inflated for an hour. I've gone from 5.5" x 5" to 6.75"x 5.5" since about August. The key is to know what size implant you have so that your goal can be realistic. My doc told me that he implanted the 21cm cylinder AMS LGX and that each cylinder is 12mm in diameter. I figure that I have maxed out on girth and have exceeded my expectations of 6.25" in length. I plan to keep on inflating daily until I don't notice any more stretch. My wife is content with what we have... I keep going for more gains as insurance against scarring. Scar tissue does not stretch and is not our friend. Lost 1.5" in length and .5" in girth from scarring not the implant.

You have more girth available from the implant it expands to a girth of 18mm from the 12mm the urologist mentioned. Grow yourself a mighty oak. Radiodec

Unfortunately, for those of us who had prostatectomies, scarring is a real issue. When you don't have normal nightly erections, the plumbing starts to atrophy. That is the big unknown when trying to guess size post IPP.

fyi, I have gained back 3/4 in length in the three weeks I've been pumping. Streeeeeetch!
