Clear fluid from incision site
Clear fluid from incision site
Clear and odorless fluid coming from my incision site. Girlfriend said it looks like when you pop a blister. Obviously, I’ve put an email into the portal for my surgeon and will be calling him in the morning but, can someone give me an idea of what this might be? I don’t think it’s infected because of the clarity and smell but, just sort of curious… surgery was roughly 7 weeks ago and wound looks healed but, I’m on anti-rejection drugs so, there might be “more than likely is“ something a little bit open still… Has anyone at all ever had this?
Implanted October 2019 Dr. Kramer lgx 18 cm +2 rear tips. Preop at 6.75 post op 5.25... awaiting revision… Implanted for possibility of having our first child.

You know, whitecane, I might have some information that could be useful to you man. But why should I be considerate of someone who ignores my PMs?

Cut the guy a break... He's blind and uses a reader program to read his messages and he uses speech-to-text to post. Sometimes he might actually miss the fact a PM came in or not be able to respond as timely as a sighted person might.

Sincerely, I try to be a good person to everyone that I meet. I’m sorry that I didn’t respond to your instant message. I would’ve been prompt if I knew that it was there. I’m going to try to locate and respond to your iM. My dad used to play this kind of game with my head. i’ve played eye for an eye long enough. I don’t have any more eyes to give. my best judgment says that I should probably just wait until I hear from my doctor this morning. I just asked for a little advice in hopes of maybe getting some sleep last night. I hope this reaches everyone well.

WhiteCane...Having read your frequent and often lengthy posts on FT and then sending you 3 PMs over several weeks that did not receive a response, I assumed you were purposely ignoring me -- not because of ANYTHING to do with your blindness. Thus my rude post, for which I apologize.
Regarding the fluid from your incision site...
From post-op weeks 3-8, I experienced a yellowish but odorless discharge coming up through my sutures. I feared that this was an infection and saw my surgeon several times during this period to check it out. Although he didn't think it was infected, he put me on antibiotics for 10 days and gave me a prescription for a topical ointment. The discharges slowly diminished and eventually stopped.
Hopefully, the discharge you're experiencing is not from an infection. Be well, brother!
