Can someone explain the inflation "pop"? AMX 700

Postby jtm_9988 » Mon Nov 30, 2020 2:24 pm

Hey gang,

I'm at just over 3 weeks post op and have been cycling my AMS 700 CX. In fact my nurse GF and I have had PIV sex a couple times. (sorry doc) I am very happy with the surgery, functional and size results.

Seems like we have a good handle on deflation but inflation is still kinda a mysterious thing.

Reading the AMS troubleshooting support documents on-site and reading other experiences here have revealed "the pop" that "switches" on the inflation valve.

When we hit that pop pumping all of a sudden becomes much easier and productive. (it feels almost by accident) But it seems there is a trick to resetting the inflation valve and maintaining it open.

Can someone reveal what and how the heck this whole thing works? (I have a feeling that the doc will reveals some kind of "trick" when I go to activation next week)

Basically look at it like a pressure activated valve. When the pressure of the bulb being squeezed reaches threshold level it toggles the valve to allow that pressure into the cylinders. Afterward, when ready to deflate, a mechanically activated valve has to be activated by the button in the middle to toggle that valve back into the deflate mode. Partially pressing the deflate button (without sufficient depth to toggle) will allow a little saline to flow back into the reservoir but will not toggle to deflate and will maintain the remaining pressure once the button is released.

Just consider the "POP" of the bulb when you squeeze it hard enough as the toggling of the valve to allow the saline to move from the bulb into the cylinders.

Hey jtm,

I here ya. I am almost 3 months post op. I have also heard people talk about the 'pop' for inflation and the 'click' for deflation. Once or twice for inflation, I have gotten a squish. Almost like a grape squishing. No Pop. More often than not, I just pump 4-5 times, take a break and then pump some more. It gets hard. For the deflation part, I have never gotten a 'click' but I do get the buzz. I hold down the button for about 4-5 seconds until the buzzing stops. Then I squeeze it out. When I met with my doc at 6 weeks, he told me the device is either in inflate more or deflate mode. In other words, if you are inflating, you are in deflate mode. Once you hit the deflate button and get the bussing, it is in deflate mode and will stay there until you start to pump up again. Hope that helps

First of all you need to follow your doctors instructions. I feel that infection is the worst result. That is because in most all cases the device will have to be removed. And many of those cases nothing can be used to replace it for 6 months. Some cases a malleable can be placed to help reduce size loss during that 6 months and in a few cases with some of the best doctors in the world you can receive another inflatable. But the odds are against you in this. So having PIV sex prior to activation is a major increase in your chances of infection.

Your device is self lubricating. It is new and tight so it will last for years. As it wears a bit self lubricating it will become easier to operate. As said the pop is the valve switching from deflate mode to inflate mode. This locks out return of fluid from the cylinders to the reservoir. When you press the deflate button there will be a faint click. You may or may not feel this. That switches to deflate mode. It locks open the so that fluid will flow from the cylinders back into the reservoir. Mine will continue to push fluid out of the cylinders as I move around. So if I want to maintain a certain size I did to "pop" the bulb to switch to inflation mode and lock in that size.

Be careful friend. Waiting a few weeks is way better than risking infection.

Did you mean "deflate mode" or "inflate mode"? :?:

To me it’s more of a feel than heard. On the first squeeze of the pump bulb it start hard the suddenly collapses. If I don’t get or feel the pop by the second or third squeeze I press the deflate button and squeeze my cock. I feel the buzzing of the saline the i reposition my hands and squeeze the pump bulb hard and fast it again feels more of feeling than audible pop.

Now on deflate i and my wife both hear the buzzing and I feel the vibration it causes again no click more of that feeling that the button seated itself in the valve block

Lost Sheep, yes you are absolutely correct. It should have said Inflate mode.

Early on, I wasn't hearing or feeling the "pop" while inflating. My PA suggested an initial fast, hard squeeze of the pump bulb instead of the slow and steady squeeze that I had been doing. Now, the difference is obvious. As for deflation, I hear/feel a "squishing" sound.

Hey gang thanks so much!

Your visual descriptions of how the valves work has helped me to easily pump up and deflate.

Thanks again!
