This afternoon I had a doppler ultrasound with caverject (vasoastimulant drug). The andrologist has told me that I have responded very well to the drug, but although the body of my penis was very hard, so much that it hurt, my glans has not swelled at all. The doctor says he doesn’t see any signs of venous leakage, but he wants to repeat the doppler with a lower dose to be sure.
Could anyone who’s been diagnosed with venous leakage contribute anything? It’s weird because even though I got a really hard erection, my glans was deflated. The VPS was only 10cm/s and I think it should be higher than 30cm/s.
Do injections work like this? Without swelling the glans?
Thanks so much.

Re: Doppler exam
I don't know how much use this will be, I have not had a formal diagnosis yet.
My ED began with my glans failing to swell. At that time the shaft was still hard. Then very quickly over a few weeks the shaft became softer and softer, until eventually The shaft will not get hard unless I use cock rings. Even then it is not hard enough.
So there was a point where I had a soft glans but hard shaft. You could try the use of rings for your glans.
Lets hope that you do not follow the same prognosis I did.

Re: Doppler exam
when I masturbate my glans swells more than today. What I mean is, it seemed like the injection only worked for the cavernous bodies and not for the glans.

Re: Doppler exam
Sounds like me! use a adjustable strap to inject and get a firm semi, but not hard. if I take it off, it goes to a stiff semi, no engorgement. It does engorge with strap.

Re: Doppler exam
The injection itself does not directly affect the glans. It's a different system. Arousal or a strap or ring of some sort might help.

Re: Doppler exam
To be fair, I must state that I was never diagnosed (no Doppler test used) with a venous leak although the doc suspected a venous leak.
Anyway, I was prescribed Trimix injections which worked well for a number of years (generated enough blood flow to off-set a venous leak.) However, the injections always resulted in a fully engorged glans.

Correct. The injection was into the 2 erectile bodies of the penis, the corpus cavernosum. This is independent of the Glans. The glans will still work for some people when getting an implant when the corpus cavernosum is destroyed. Stronger preparations such as Trimix can affect the glans too due to some systemic spill over.
I do wonder why some specialists still only use caverject to perform these tests. If phentolamine is not used as well the test is more likely to give a false positive.

What do you mean with false positive? Positive in venous leak or positiva as a meaning of my penis is OK?
In the doppler exam I was done don’t show a venous leak, but the doctor wants to repeat the test with a low dose of caverject.

Positive being a determination from what the doctor interprets from the dopper testing that you have CVOD, which is what they casually term a venous leak.
If they do this test without inhibiting adrenergic function with phentolamine or the like, the penis can show a venous occlusive dysfunction simply because the inhibiting forces within the erectile tissues are working excessively. This can happen simply because you are in the doctors office getting a needle stuck into your penis for the first time or you may have an issue with this as most older men do.
