Revision surgery recovery time

Postby oddjob » Mon Dec 28, 2020 6:51 pm

How long did your revision surgery take to heal?

Longer than the original implant surgery or less?

My AMS LGX 700 has died after 4 years and I’m terrified of a revision surgery if the recovery is as hard (no pun intended) as my original implant surgery was for me....

Please let me hear about your recovery from revision surgery.

I haven't crossed that bridge yet...but probably read somewhere that it heals rather quickly than the virgin one.....also depends on the complexity of the revision ..if its only the pumps, probably its quicker than if its both the cylinders and the pump...I have heard extracting reservoir is sometimes less preferred than inserting a new one and let it remain as a useless body part near abdomen....

oddjob,
I just recently had revision on 12.2. I had complete replacement of all implant components. I am already completely healed but still waiting on implant activation because my doc waits 6 weeks.
Everything was so much easier compared to virgin implant.

Recovery from a revision is easier. Less painful, faster.
