Anyone done any alternative treatments?

Postby jwpenn82 » Thu Jan 07, 2021 6:06 pm

I’m sure it has been talked about many times before. But has anyone done any alternative treatments and had any luck? Shock wave, stem cell, or prp? I see there are clinical trials testing these and some show promising results. Just curious if anyone on here could chime in that did stem cells specifically. Stem cells interest me and there are a few clinical trials that could be promising. I actually tried to get in touch with a new trial but haven’t had any luck reaching out to the contact information that’s provided.

Tried shock therapy twice with two different clinics and a stem cell shot. Didn't make the ED go away but the money in my wallet sure did.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

Did you notice any change at all?

I see a member over on the implants section that has tried I think all 3. At least 2 of them. They didn't do a thing. That is why he is on the implant forum.
As for promising results. I'm pretty skeptical. I seem to only hear good things in the advertisements pushing their use. The new blood flow sounds good. But flow doesn't produce an erection if it doesn't stay in the penis. Thus the name venous leak. These are my opinions.
Now that I think about it. I seem to remember a young man from southern California whose family sent him to Europe for treatment. Waste of his families money as I remember.
If the solution to ED was simple, no one would have ED. But keep searching. You won't be satisfied until you've exhausted all avenues. Then you'll understand why AMS has sold over half a million implants.
Not trying to be rude, just honest. It is a horrible condition.

I appreciate the honesty I guess I’m just like the rest of us searching for an answer or solution. It’s tough because I’m still in my 30’s.

NO.
You're going through what most of us did. We looked for ways to turn back the clock but there is none. At least, not yet. It's so tough struggling with ED when you're younger and then getting on here and seeing someone in their late 60's start a thread complaining about not getting at hard as they used to. 60-70 years of getting erections under their own power? Wow. They hit the genetic lotto while many of us got screwed over.

In my case, this is how it went. I suspect that most older men have a story that goes back years. This condition doesn't just jump out of nowhere one day.
In February of 2013 I had surgery to correct some minor phimosis. I never tracked when it started but I'm fairly sure that it took a few years. It took me around a year to find a doctor that would do it the way that I wanted. I remember asking him if he did implants & he said no. The phimosis caused pain during erection. I had hoped that fixing it would solved the erection issues. Recovery was slow. Much like some men talk about their implant recovery. About the time I finally recovered enough to see that the erection issues weren't going to go away our daughter started having health problems. She finally died in late 2015. It took a few years for us to recover from that. I think I found FT in early 2019. Finding a doctor near me took until spring of 2020. Covid has put a big crimp in elective sugeries so here I sit.
I'm just short of 65 now. Been living with some version of ED for about 15 years. Trust me. I know how time slips past you. So as what you may think of as an old man actually started this maybe in his very late 40's. Someone starting in his 30's is not surprising.
My suggestion. Start getting your mind around a solution, not an advertisement where they want your money with vague hints that it might help you. Get over to the implant forum. The progression of ED is well known. Pills untill they fail. Shots, if you can handle them. But they will eventually fail also. Even implants are not perfect. They do fail/wear out. The only thing that matters in this journey is how long you are willing to live with a dick that don't work before you move to the next step. So sorry for the off topic rant. But many of us old guys know how time fies past us. We were young once.

Thanks for the replies guys. This is truly a depressing problem. When it started a few years ago viagra worked great cialis did nothing. Since then viagra has stopped working and I’ve moved on to injections several months ago. Injections work fine but I’m worried about for how long.

I’ve been on a quest reading all sorts of trials, supplements, alternative treatments. Frustrated that nothing appears promising I figured I would post here. My doctor isn’t keen on an implant just yet because of my age and says when the time comes maybe the implants will be even better.

Change doctors. Get a second opinion. Go see a doctor that has recent experience with implants. You should get at least 2 if not 3 opinions.
Seems like your current doctor might not be keeping up on developments in his field. Good luck.

Impaza is definitely 'alternative' and I'm going to try it soon.

My expectations are not too high because this is just a homeopathic treatment but it may work sinergistically with other meds and there are studies that prove it.

I am and always have been a firm believer in combination therapy.

Cialis on it its own works well for me. Cialis combined with phentolamine yields exceptional results.
Age 40. Psychogenic ED for over 20 years. Current regimen: Udenafil 200 mg, oral phentolamine mesylate 40 mg, Seredyn.
