Implant longevity and age, is it really a concern?

I got my implant at 24 years of age and I have read about people as young as 18 who got is as well. I think the mentioned urologist is not very confident in his ability to perform penile implant operations.

I had my first implant when I was like 58. Had the AMS Ultrex which lasted 15 years. Asked for a revision right away since I was and am still in love with sex. My revision did not go well the new pump was not working proper, so they redone the revision with the AMS LGX which I completely love. I have great length and girth. Could not ask for anything better then what I got.

If a man suffers from ED do not be afraid, they have perfected these prosthetics to where you can not tell the difference from your original. Flaccid or erect feel great. Do not hesitate and lose out on some good sex. Sex to me is the most important thing in life for a man.

Met w Dr Tatem yesterday and he said he recommends Titan to young guys because they seem to have a longer life. Have heard Clavell say the same.

I wish I had gone for the implant when I was younger. I totally agree with the analysis : "five years of super sex between age 45 and 50 is far more important than being able to maintain having sex between age 65 and 70."

I first was implanted when I was 56, and I asked my surgeon if I am an ideal candidate, He said, "yes, being 56 is a good age since you will likely get a good amount of use from the implant"

I thought that was a curious answer, since it implies that maybe he is a little disappointed when he implants men over sixty who perhaps do not use the implant with the frequency that a surgery as complicated and expensive as an implant should disserve.

ALSO, do realize that I think young women might really find getting f..ked by an implanted male more enjoyable and intriguing then older women since that level of rough sex can be hard on a vagina.

(fortunately for me, the wife got mona lisa vagina rejuvenating treatments....but you might not be so lucky)

So, if I had to do it over again, I would go for implant in my forties...you must realize that when women hot menopause (in there fifties), sex really changes. Yes, you might need replacement every 10 or fifteen years....but, that is really worth the trouble given how great reliable long lasting spontaneous sex can be

Infact, I commented to my Uro that my wife will likely hit menopause within a decade and they were more comfortable to the idea of an implant after that point.

Personally, I've decided not to be shy about injection therapy and wont waste time moving to an implant.

I spent some time last year with incredibly bad tinnitus (after increasing Viagra) and a depression upon realising my ED is very real and severe, nothing has ever hit me to canvas like that in my life. It took a couple of months to sort through doctors and get proof of venous leak and onto injection therapy but immediately I couldn't thank the urologist nurse enough.

i think the menopause issue is important.....before menopause, women are fairly interested in sex, and they are able to handle rough sex---occasionally gaining enjoyment and thrill from being aggressively taken by an alpha male. After menopause, the vagina and sex mindset often significantly decreases. So you need to time your ability to have amazing long lasting sex with your wife's ability to handle a super man in bed.

I also remember another quote from my surgeon:

"no man should be sentenced to suffer with ED for twenty years because of hesitancy regarding implant surgery at a younger age"

My wife went through menopause at age 50. We had some of the best sex of our lives between 50 and when I got cancer at 74. Got my implant with in 9 months of RP surgery.

Just curious, oldbeek...You often praise the surgeons at USC-Keck but why did they give you a 15 cm IPP with 5 cm RTEs instead of an 18 cm IPP with just 2 RTEs?

So my first Titan failed in less than 24 months and had to be completely replaced. That was a bit of a nightmare scenario. Coloplast apparently has finally recognized they have a problem with cheap tubing. I'm now 13 months on my new one (still Titan) and always nervous it could happen again since the company had not fixed their quality issues. I exercise a lot but have stopped doing things like burpees where my groin pushes onto hard surfaces to keep the tubing from unnecessary wear and tear.
