VED use after implant
I've wanted to ask this question, but kept forgetting. It has been suggested by many implanted members to use a ved for various reasons. I was wondering how the implant and especially the tubing isn't damaged by the downward pressure needed to get a tight seal. I would think that pinching the tubing would cause premature failure.
Eastern PA Born 1957 Type 2 Diabetes since 2004 Oral meds worked well in the past...not so much anymore! Still weighing my options...hoping for improvement with implant technology!!
Re: VED use after implant
A very good question. I was on board with VED use prior to implant and really when ever natural erections diminish to maintain size or even regain some already lost size. But was not much so about it post op for that reason 3 years ago when getting ready for my surgery. However after surgery I was viewing my AMS user DVD and found in the cycling section a statement that some doctors might advise VED use with cycling. So this was straight from AMS. I figured that as AMS is known for fewer tubing failures than Coloplast then that was the reason. Still maybe a bit of concern about the cylinders though. And then this paper was published 2 years ago : https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/d88 ... action.pdf You may notice the last doctor listed is a famous Florida surgeon that I thought to be a Coloplast only user. And I have talked to another well known Georgia surgeon that was I thought to also be Coloplast only who not only advise me to use a VED with my AMS implant but advised he would put another LGX in if I really wanted. And I have read post by other members on the site who had quicker results with VED use than I did with long stretching inflations.
Now it should be pointed out a couple of things here. One is another paper in the General section of this board under Documents Worth Reading thread that shows early activation (like used in the above publication) reduces size loss. It calls what happens with late activation the "Coffin Effect". So how much is VED use and how much is early activation is unknown. Another is surgery approach. Penoscrotal is a problem I see with not only early activation but early VED use. I had this approach and was activated just under 3 weeks but I would worry about infection and pain with it for the very early activation in the above publication and the early VED use. So most likely if your were to go all in on this infrapubic incision would be the way to go. And lastly to fast or excessive VED use can cause damage and cost you size. So be careful not to go too fast or too much vacuum.
It is up to each of us to decide what is best for us. Some say they do not care about size and just want something that works. And others like me say I want to do what I can to keep as much as I was as I can.
Here is the link on VED use prior to implant: https://file.scirp.org/pdf/ASM_2013012514045982.pdf And the early activation paper: https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... prosthesis
If you'd like to talk send me a PM and I will get you my number. Good luck and keep asking questions and reading.

Re: VED use after implant
I tried using a VED after being implanted and thought it to be risky. I tried it about three or four times and the pressure of the open end on my Penis base and the implant tubes was far too much so i decided not to do it again
55 yo Aussie. E.D all my life. Used Viagra for years but. Went on to Injections which worked well but very inconvenient and didnt work sometimes. Implanted Jan'18 with Titan one touch 20cm/ 1.5RTE by Pro Chung in Brisbane.
Re: VED use after implant
Interesting read. But I didn't see anywhere, unless I missed it, do you inflate fully, partially, or not at all when using the VED? That has been another question asked here about using one.

There has been some discussion here on FT a few years back. Search "Using your VED after implantation" under implants
1950. Implanted November 1st 2017 by Dr Andrew Kramer with Titian 22cm + 2cm RTE. Pump relocated and replace with Classic pump Jan. 24th, 2018. Pump failure 12/18, Replaced 2/13/19 by Dr Kramer. Revision by Dr Clavell, Feb 28, 2024.
Re: VED use after implant
My understanding is that VED is used with cycling so inflated. And there are a number of cushion rings that are available.

Re: VED use after implant
I'm a dedicated VED user, use it every day, it's helped get me back to my pre-op size, and I can tell you I can pump my LGX to a pretty impressive girth now because of my VED use helping expand my corpora. I pop the pump on right before I get in the shower, leave it on while I do all of my showering, and take it off about 15 mins after I get out. Leaves me with a nice hefty, pumped and plumped up dick. I'm a believer it helps keep the tissues with good blood supply, especially to the glans, as I've seen a lot of guys here lose some glans volume after being implanted. I partially inflate prior to putting on the VED, so it's not entirely deflated, although don't think it really matters how you do it.
I wouldn't worry about damaging the tubing, you've got a pretty thick layer of skin that it's under that I don't see any way that the downward pressure from the VED tube is going to do anything to it. The tubing is also reinforced to take wear and tear. It's also angled to come out of the cylinder pointing downward, so any compression from the edge of the VED cylinder is probably just flatting it down in its' normally oriented direction. Pump away.

Re: VED use after implant
I’m a great believer in VED PRIOR implant. However after implant I’m not using the pump anymore. Cycling everyday for a couple of hours works just as well.

Oregon and others with IPP can you elaborate on how you use the VED. IE how long after surgery you started, implant brand and size, device used, cushion ring or band, how tight is the ring/band, vacuum level reading, frequency and duration? I assume you use VED when cycling if so how hard do you get the implant while using the VED and if you have seen any size gains or benefits in blood flow to shaft and or head?
I have a titan and just started using my no name VED with a cushion ring but it's a little uncomfortable where the tubing comes out of the base. Thanks
2020 56 year old used pde5 then injections and now bionic
