Well the thing is that no doctor is perfect. All you can do is to make the best choice for you. So even coming to the US to one of the big name doctors is not a guarantee of a perfect out come. And you give up local care if you have a problem. By researching doctors you are just finding out which ones have an interest in preserving size, reducing infection rates, ect. As important as finding a good one is, staying away from bad ones is more important I think. No matter what you decide it will be the right choice because you made it,
Best of luck to you on your search my friend.

Wait a minute. You've been a member for almost 3 years & just now you have seen an IPP doctor. I'm sure that your delay has contributed to further loss.
I wasn't there when you saw the doctor. But you have many walls erected that you expect the doctor to climb over. Is there a chance that he gave you bad news because he does not want to deal with you? He can tell you things that make you go away & it won't hurt him at all. Where as if he operates on you. He'll have you in his office many times making him miserable. May I sugest visiting another surgeon & trying a more gentle discussion.
Bottom line, doctors do turn away patients that they think might be more trouble than they are worth. Good luck.

It is a fine line to walk. You may find the perfect doctor is the very first one that you visit. That is part of what FT helps you with. Information, referrals, knowledge on how to sort the doctors. If what you are being told isn't what your research has shown. Get a second opinion.
I think that there might be some basic differences between the USA model of healthcare vs other countries. It seems to be easier to research a dr's skills & reputation here in my opinion.
In my part of America, my search only found 2 implant doctors. My only other choices would require traveling a very long distance.
Part of selecting a competent doctor is to have reasonable expectations. If they see signs that you might be difficult to work with or have unrealistic ideas. They can easily dissuade you from being their patient. Why would they work on you if you're just going to make them miserable?
Not to say that you shouldn't advocate for the best outcome that you can get. But be reasonable.
I wish everyone well. ED is horrible. There are few benefits in delaying your implant.

My way of supporting you is by looking at the good side, you have money to access a prosthesis, there are men like me who must think about prosthetics in a very long term and not enjoy their sexuality ... I have almost 7.6 inches currently, if they would take 2 but they told me that I can have unlimited sex I would without a doubt ...

Ehy GT1956, even if you are born in 1956 i teach you something you didnt grasp yet. And it is: Dont judge people which you dont know the stories
For your information, i went to 10 ( TEN ) doctors since i have tried many teraphies and tried to solve Peyronies without surgery. Furthermore my ED was not so severe some years ago, it got worse and worse over time and keeps worsening. Thats why now im headed for the prosthesis. And I signed up on FT cause i hoped i could find help one day for this thing, i strongly suspected that my PD would have been progressing over time.
Second point: you said that probably the doc didnt want me as a patient. You know what? If he did that for real (and i dont believe that, he seemed honest) he can go to hell and I wish him 1/10 of what i've been through in these years. You know, my PD wasnt my first suffering, i fought a cancer before that, at 17. However i didnt go there telling him "DOC GIVE ME 4 INCHES MORE!". No. I went him asking if he could do elongation techniques for what was lost. He said he can but its more risky. Then i said: ok, can we AT LEAST mantain what i have now? And he said NO, you are going to lose another inch.
A doc just told me i may lose another full inch and i should be happy at 26 years old? Reflect on it. Cheers
26 yo from Italy.Peyronie's disease probably since 2015.Since then, penis bends of about 20-25°. PD keeps progressing. Moderate ED since 4 years and things getting worse. From pornstar-like to depressed, but still fighting for a solution.

hope794 wrote:Hi guys. After reading your journals, i was ready for the idea of an implant. Today i went to a good italian doctor for a consultation and he told me things that i hated to hear. Honestly, i'm starting to think that i'm just doomed to depression and impotence for life.
He told me that i should try PRP for Peyronie's, but by reading the studies i already know it doesnt give great results and will never be able to reverse my situation. It costs a lot and i'm not going to spend all that money just for a "try" (his words, so no guarantee).
Then he told me that "for sure i will lose at least 2cm with an implant". I told him: "But Doc, i've stretched my flaccid penis to the maximum, why don't you do it like me?" He said that i've stretched the flaccid penis too much and, if they insert me a prosthesis with that measurements, i will probably have a glans ischemia or an extrusion.
And this because i've stretched really a lot the penis while flaccid.
Then i asked him about the girth: i've said him that, if i stretch to the maximum extension, my girth is ridicolous, like 7-8 cm or 3.15 inches. He told me that with a Titan i will have for sure more girth than that, but i will probably lose 1-2 cm even in girth.
So: i've already lost 1 full inch in lenght and 0.5" inch in girth by Peyronie; then i'll have to accept another 0,5-1" loss in lenght and probably the same loss in girth.
My only question is: WTF is that? Is that an option?? Sorry, not for me. I don't want to insult anyone who lost that size, but for me it is just not acceptable.
I apologize for everyone for this post, i'm really angry and depressed and honestly i don't know what to do now in my life.
IMPORTANT QUESTION: By reading your journals, people here told me that american doctors can give you the same lenght and girth you had PRE-IMPLANT. Do doctors like Eid measure you like mine? Do they REALLY stretch to the maximum or they just take your penis and stretch a little bit like my doctor? Trust me i've really stretched to the maximum with both hands and my doctor said it's not feasible because i would risk an extrusion, so he has to bring down 1.5-2 cm.
P.S. = Please don't tell me the old tale "even if you lose 2", at least you have a working penis" because we are humans with dignity, we the men have a psychology like women and we deserve to be good with ourselves too. It's just not a matter to fuck, i would just not recognize that penis as mine. Sorry again to everyone if you feel offended but that's it.
The ONLY measurement that is reliable is the measurement of the inside of the tunica albuginea (where the implant will be placed). If your stretched penis is longer than your anatomy, that stretched length is an illusion and not realistic. The length of your penis is what fits over the (engorged) tunica.
If your tunica (now damaged by Peyronie's Disease) has been shortened, perhaps PRP can help restore size and straightening, but I know nothing about that. Sorry.
The point is, you should find a surgeon who will talk to you candidly and explain to your complete satisfaction what is to happen. Your job is to listen with an open mind. If he tells you that you have stretched too much, let him explain - do not just reject his opinion. That is not only insulting to his profession but unlikely to help you to understand what you NEED TO KNOW about the internal structures of your penis.
Let me repeat: First thing is to prepare your mind to HEAR what the doctor has to tell you. Equally important is to find a doctor willing to TALK TO YOU candidly. If he will not accept you as part of your medical care team, find another surgeon.
Be realistic. If you penis is smaller than you think it is, then what you think it is is unrealistic and probably unhealthy. It is what it is. A man's sexual ability depends only partly on size and what he can do with it is MUCH more important and his ATTITUDE towards his partner is even more important to her. That is what makes a woman think of him as a MAN.

Re: Im angry and depressed as f*ck. Just had a consultation for the prosthesis.
Why did the doctor say glans ischemia is a possible complication of the implant procedure if the prosthesis is too long?
I quickly did some reading, it's very rare, right?
Just wondering why, if it's because erosion can block of arterial flow.

If you are happy with your limp penis, then do nothing.
If you are really desperate to have working penis then stop worrying what are your loosing and concentrate on positives and what that means for your sex life. Be realistic.

I agree with what Mk1965 wrote. Do not concentrate on the size you (might) lose. Concentrate on the rigidity you gain.
