Re: Finally Bionic
Thanks brothers for you comments.
I am happy the surgeon didn't use a catheter, as I could pee immediately after the surgery with minimal unrest in the glans.
Dr. Li told me to pull down the pump several times a day. He said he doesn't want it to go up. I find this difficult. My testicles are not the same level, and wonder how the pump will settle in between.
My surgeon didn't mention the length. He just said he used 21 in plus 1 cm rte.
Honestly, I don't pay much attention to the length and girth. I know since my RP in 2017, I lost more than 2 in. I measured before the surgery, and it was about 5.5 in (not bone-pressed). I believe with cycling I can regain this length.

Re: Finally Bionic
My 3rd day after implant.
My dick is swelling. I believe swelling occurs from the 3rd to 5th day after the surgery. Overall, I feel good, little pain in scrotum. I applied Lidocaine in the morning. Thanks for this advice, which I found it on a post here on FT.
My journey started when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and was informed by the physician to have the Prostatectomy asap. So I had the Robotic Prostatectomy in Oct. 2017. I was prescribed 40mg of Viagra on daily basis for 6 month, so that the vessels would revive. I wasn't following this strictly, as the 40mg caused me headache and backpain. Sometimes, I take 20mg, sometimes, none.
6 months after, I told my doctor that I am getting any erection, so he prescribed trimix #4 for me. I got the first injection at the clinic by a nurse who showed me how to inject on my own. She injected about 30ml, and response was quick and amazing! I could have sex that day, but the erection lasted almost 4 hours (the allowed limit) I used cold water, ran up and down stairs, till the erection was turned to semi-flaccid.
So, I used about 8ml, and that was perfect dosage for me for less than 2 months, then I notice starting to have Pyronie's. My penis bent about 20 degrees to the left and penetration became impossible.
Unfortunately, I lost my insurance with Kaiser, and searched for good urologists, only to find out that they don't even care. The first one told me to stop injections as they harm your penis, and prescribed Cialis. (I informed him that Viagra didn't work). When I got the prescription, I found that he mentioned Viagra, and it took some contacts to get this changed. This also didn't work.
In Jan 2020, I met dr. Amin Terhati, at JHH, Baltimore. He was brief and straight forward. Go for the implant. That was the last thing I would think about. How the hell I would have pumps and machines in my body? I said may be I will consider it later. He then said: better to do it now rather than later. You can enjoy sex now more. He also recommended the use of Restorex, and as I had Hernia at that time, he advised to get the hernia repaired, and come back to him for the implant after about 4 month.
I got my hernia repaired in Feb 2020, and with nothing working for me to get an erection, I googled implants, and luckily found FT. I was really impressed by the experiences, specially a member called Elkron I think, who had his implant with dr. Kramer. So I decided to approach dr. Kramer. I had to wait with the pandemic spread until they resume surgeries, and was put in their contact list. So I booked a surgery date in June 2020, was approved by insurance for about 2400$ copay, then I postponed due to work commitments. That was the worst decision, as when I rebooked in July, insurance rejected my procedure 48 prior to the surgery. I then had lengthy correspondence with dr. Kramer's office, but there was no way to do it. I contacted Dr. Tajkarimi, who immediately informed me that my insurance doesn't cover, and if I would like to proceed, I have to pay $26k upfront, and the waiting period is at least 2 months.
I was really pissed off with the insurance issues. Then in a post here, I read Kaiser Permanente consider such surgeries essential, not luxury. I did some search and found Dr. Kai Li, and decided to go ahead with Kaiser rather than having being stuck in another insurance, and when I decide for the implant, they simply say there should be 12 months waiting period, or this is a pre-existing condition.
So, I got Nov, and Dec insurance with Kaiser, as I was eligible for a special enrollment period. I met with dr. Li and from the consultation I felt that he knows what to do.
So, here I am now. Had my surgery 3 days ago, recovering and waiting to be able to have sex, after 3 years!

Re: Finally Bionic
Yesterday, I had a follow up appointment with my doctor. Everything looks good. Still a little swelling, that the doctor said it will go away gradually. I am no longer on pain medications.
I will have my next appointment one month after the surgery, after which I will start cycling and get cleared for sex .

Re: Finally Bionic
Welcome! I had mine yesterday also. I had no drain but did have a catheter which was removed before sending me home yesterday pm. I wouldn't wish a catheter on my worst enemy....well maybe I would. Sure feels like as someone on another post said "pissing razor blades". Good luck and keep us posted.AST2123 wrote:Hi,
Yesterday I got my implant by Dr.Kai Li at Kaiser Permanente, VA.. The procedure went smoothly. Didn't have pain. Immediately after surgery I felt pain near my bladder, where the reservoir is located. I asked to go to the bathroom. My bladder was almost full. Urine was clear. I felt very comfortable after peeing.
I was surprised by knowing that no catheter was placed. Only a drainer on the reservoir incision.
I got AMS CX 21cm with 1 cm RTE. I forgot to ask the exact surgeon about my length and girth, but will do today.
I am still in a room at the facility. So far everything is very good. Thanks to the wonder people on this forum who shared their experiences and knowledge. They were very helpful for me to make the decision.
