Confusion over Titan girth statement

According to the Coloplast website:

Girth: The Titan® IPP cylinders can expand to the maximum size of the corpora with maximum girth expansion of 21 mm of each cylinder. This provides 17% more girth.

This statement doesn't make sense, are they saying that the cylinders will expand to the maximum size of the corpora, so long as the corpora is less than 21mm? What if someone had a larger girth than that to start with?

This is a paper done comparing the Titan and the LGX. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5654325/ As you can see in table one the LGX will expand in length more than the Titan. The 18CM Titan however is the king of girth. At least for the device sizes test in this paper in 2017.

I think that your interpretation is basically correct. But I think you're missing at least 1 key item. Your girth is not solely the total of your implants total diameter. You still have natural tissue that will add to the implants to get your total girth.

I believe the 21mm is the width of the cylinder, not the girth. At 21 mm or 2.1 cm wide, times two cylinders gives a total width of 4.2 cm. A bit of calculation (or use of a circumferential calculator) can give you the girth of a CIRCLE of the width given (although a penis will likely be wider than thick).

2.1cm radius or 4.2cm diameter gives a circle with a 5.194" or 13.1947cm circumference.

Considering the remaining tissues may engorge to some degree including the corpus spongiosum that surrounds the urethra, this can lead to considerable more girth or less depending on the individual's anatomy and ability to engorge.

Here is my point by point explanation regarding the titan advertisement you quoted:
regarding the statement:

This means that the titan will expand to the size of the corpora UP TO THE POINT of a 21mm diameter. In other words, many men have a corpora that is less than a maximum 21mm diameter, so for them, the titan will be "corpora limited" and will fill up the entire corpora. (for some of us, with years of time, the corpora might get slowly stretched so that it is bigger than what was started with). For a few men who are huge, the corpora might have a diameter bigger than 21 mm, and in that case, as you indicate, the cylinder will fill much, but not all , of the corpora diameter. If there is some residual erectile function, then, the penis will have bigger girth than the titan cylinders provide (ie, there is erectile tissue surrounding the titan 21mm cylinder). For the majority of men, however, the titan is big enough that it fills the penis corpora out completely.

regarding the statement:

This provides 17% more girth.

This refers to the fact that 21mm is 17% bigger diameter than the AMS 18mm diameter (to be polite, they use the term '17% bigger than the silicon implants', which, to be blunt, would be the AMS line)


By the way, agree with comments that girth is different from diameter. Girth is the circumference, and the conversion of the diamter to the circumference of a circle goes by the well known equation
circumference=pi x diameter

Ah, yes that is all true if you compare the 18cm Titan and the 18cm LGX. But if you compare the 22cm Titan to the 18cm or 21cm LGX you see in the paper I linked to above that they are with in 1mm in diameter. And the OP has a 22cm Titan. Now that paper was done in 2017 so things may have changed in 4 years. And if there is new data please post it so I can update my information. And I agree with the other posts that there is other tissue that will add to the girth. I have 5" girth with a 21 LGX and the OP may have more or less depending on tissue and his corpora.

If you cut a circle of radius r in half and put a square of length 2r inbetween, you get an approximate calculation.

So the diameter becomes 2*pi()*r+2*2*r = 2*(2+pi())*r~=10.283*r

For diameter of 2.1cm, this gives (r=1.05) a circumference of 10.8cm

This of course is an underestimate, and doesn't include the spongesium and the outer fascia, fat and skin, and it assumes the cylinders are touching each other, which is not possible.

Post PD since coloplast. While I did get back some length. My girth has doubled since implant. I did not have organic Ed, so my Corpa tissue was not not destroyed durning implant. Last ultrasound saw normal flow in Scrotum and amble flow via penis when deflated.

I lost some girth with the Titan implant . My doctor told me that he gave me the largest girth they made but they didn't make them to fit my former girth. Dr Eid also has a video explaining this issue. Most men do gain girth with the Titan. I still have a lots of girth and I'm very pleased with the outcome.
