Penile Implant in Canada--where do I turn now?

Hi all,

I'm a 28 year old male type 1 diabetic with erectile dysfunction for ~6 years now. Pills are hit & miss. Injections did not work.

I live in a smaller town in Ontario, and my urologist has referred me to three urologists in Toronto as we don't have the ability to do penile doppler or implant surgery here and all three of them have denied my referrals. We have tried Dr. Elterman, Dr. Jarvi & Dr Grober.

I am very frustrated and not sure where to turn to now. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm willing to pay out of pocket for the implant & surgery if necessary. I'm at my wits end, my entire life has been dragged down because of my erectile dysfunction and am losing hope I'll ever get a satisfactory solution.

Is that 40K CAD or USD? Might be able to make it happen if it's CAD. Did you have to fly down to NYC in order to have an initial appointment with dr. Eid, or did he book everything before even meeting him face to face?

Plus hotels flights etc

I didn’t go down bc of
Covid

I’ll go down a few days before and do all the testing and have it done on a Thursday

Just seems strange to me. Isn't that within the area that they specialize in? Or is there a chance that your province has reached it's quota of allowed procedures?

I agree--very strange. I suppose it's possible they've hit a quota, but you'd think at the very least they'd bring me in to diagnose the issue & book a surgery for a later date.
