Since i met my insurance out-of-pocket Max for 2012, I decided to get an AUS revision on 12/26. Dr. Mobley will put in a smaller cuff for the artifical sphincter and hopefully, that will stop the minor drip that has rermained from my initial AUS surgery. The AUS surgery resolved 90% of my issue. This should ge trhe other 10%.
The biggest issue has been when I orgasm, it spurts urine past the AUS cuff, so that has not been very good. I am hopeful this will solve it. I'm expecting a quick and minor recovery.
Merry Christmas to all!!!!
Another surgery for me on 12/26
Re: Another surgery for me on 12/26
My AUS is now 2 years old and I am curious how is the revision done? it is just cuff they replace? or is the resevoir and pump replaced too. A new pump would not be bad, but can they use the same reservoir?

Be praying for you Steve. I hope all goes better than expected.
Thank goodness I didn't have to go that route though it was a possibility.
What a way to end Christmas.
Good recovery wishes, and a Happy New Year

I have been thinking about having this time. Stupid me, I should have had it as the same time as the implant.I still have to wear pads. Surgery for implants 9/4/2012; prostate removal 12/16/09. I am sick of wearing the pads, sick of buying and hoping I will not see someone who knows me in the grocery store. I was at my sister's and my brother in law would not buy them for me....I didn't want to go to the store.

A couple of months ago, I had to go buy some and I had khaki color shorts on....I got the pads and went to the bathroom store to put them on.....I was so afraid. I try to be very cautious and aware of no smell or anything showing. Plus it's not helping in the lovemaking department. Age 57

He is just replacing the cuff and the pump and reservoir will stay the same. AMS makes 12 different cuff sizes and when they put in the AUS, they measure around your urethra. In my case, he is going to put in a smaller cuff size. I'm hoping it eliminates the other 10% of leakage,
As for the AUS, it has been great. I am so glad I went with it in 2010. I was wearing 6-8 pads a day after my prostatectomy and filled them up. With the AUS i went to a small woman's pad that I use to catch drips and the occasional stress leakage. I can go the entire day on one single thin pad. But hopefully, this leakage will go away with this revision.
Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

I hope it went well. I would like to know how this went for you, swelling and soreness wise. I had both AUS and IPP done in one surgery, I don't have an AUS surgery to compare to. I, think that I may end up being a candidate for new cuff.

All went well on my AUS revision. 48 hours post and I am totally dry for first time in 3 1/2 years. No pad needed at all. Now' for the incisions to heal. This should do me for surgeries for awhile.

Also very little soreness. I only took one pain pill the afternoon I got back. None the past 48 hours. Some swelling along the main incision.
I have two incisions - one on my lower abdomen due to he needed to adjust the reservoir; and one under my scrotum where he put in the new cuff.
If considering this, AMS makes 12 cuff sizes.

Excellent news Steve! Congratulations on the desert in you shorts!
Well now I know they work better than I was afraid, just in case. Hopefully never though.
Best wishess and Happy New Year!
