Hello guys I was just wondering if anyone have had a spinal cord injury and have considered getting a penile implant and if you already have one what is your outcome. Currently I am taking Cialis and Viagra but they don't seem to be working anymore and then my doctor prescribed me trimix I don't like the fact that it has to be store in the cold all the time. What if I want a quicke at a random place. How quick did you agree to the penile implant..Please advise

I didn't have a spinal cord injury but found the trimix was too restrictive, cumbersome, and inconvenient. I tried it for 3 months and had an implant and haven't looked back. It's been such a morale booster.

Yeah I spoke about it with my significant other and we both agreed that we don't want that route because we wanted spontaneous right away

I used oral medications for a long time. When they lost effectiveness, my primary care physician suggested that authorization for an implant might be possible.

Then it took 14 months for me to find a surgeon I wanted to trust to do the implant.

I interviewed with two surgeons in Anchorage. I wanted more assurance of the highest skill level. I contacted Dr Kramer and Dr Eid (both were available through the Veteran's Administration, which provides most of my health care, as I am a disabled veteran). Dr Kramer at the time sometimes performed surgeries for the Maryland VA and Dr. Eid is is authorized as an outside provider. Neither my VA in Alaska nor Maryland would pay for travel, but I was able to enroll in the Maryland system, so would be able to get the surgery if I jumped through their bureaucratic hoops. Alaska VA did authorize travel to Washington State, so I interviewed a surgeon there.

Then, a nurse working in the travel office (who was not supportive at first) called me and told me that Dr Shaw had recently been assigned to the local Air Force Base Hospital and he was expert enough to have taught the procedure. I jumped at the chance to interview with him and was immediately impressed and scheduled my surgery right away.

All that did take a while. Maybe I was too picky. But I am protective of my penis.

I hear that name a lot I do have work insurance so I don't think I have a limit on who I can see or not I am ready for my penis to work

Being well-knows is good. But, as Dr Shaw told me "You will be overflying a lot of good surgeons if you go to the East Coast. Dr. Eid told me simply "Find a surgeon in love with his craft" He went on to explain, such a sureon will put his patient's welfare above all other considerations.

and I know the Dr Garber (USA Midwest) is highly regarded and is published.
Then there is Chris Love in Australia
and a surgeon in England whos name escapes me at the moment.
and no shortage of other fine and assiduous surgeons.

Just find a surgeon you trust and who trusts you. Local is better for ease of followup.
