AMS 700 LGX vs AMS 700 CX

Postby GLE Man » Wed Mar 17, 2021 10:45 pm

Hi guys,

Can someone please explain to me the difference/pros and cons between the AMS 700 LGX vs AMS 700 CX? Every time I read about it I get confused. I need layman's terms to know the difference and how it's decided which one is inserted by your doctor. Please guys, straight-up talk. I have the CX and truly don't know the difference. Even my doctor's explanation was about as clear as mud.

Also the size implanted e.g. 19, 20, 21cm. What does that mean? Does that have a bearing on what my erect penis size will be? Forgive my ignorance.

Please, straight talk

The difference between the two is that the LGX not only expands in girth but also length. This is because the Dacron sleeve that surrounds the silicone bladder of each cylinder is made slightly differently than the one on the CX, so it expands in two different dimensions instead of one. Since there is no length restriction, the silicone may get more stress and as such it's not ideal for every patient. The CX with its limit in length expansion doesn't get the same amount of stress as the LGX.

Does this mean the CX is better than the LGX? No, only different. For some patients, based on their anatomy the LGX is a better choice than the CX but for others it isn't.

Only your doctor can tell you if you are best suited for a CX or an LGX (or even a Titan).

A bit more to add. The CX is stiffer and used to straighten curvatures. As the CX is stiffer it is also made in longer 24 cm size. This paper shows the expansion of the LGX in comparison to the Titan. But I have seen no data on the CX. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5654325/ It seems the limit of the LGX is 21cm in length and I have received information from a well known doctor that even the 21 cm LGX is pushing those limits. The doctor advised he preferred using a CX or Titan instead at 21cm. Men are different. So no size can be accurately predicted by the over all length of the device. Some use a ballpark formula of 1/3 inside the mans body and 2/3 in the exposed shaft. So that a man with 15cm total in the length of the cylinder and any rear tip extenders (RTE's) would have in the area of a 10cm exposed penis or bone pressed measurement. But that varies a lot from one man to another. The same with a 21cm overall length of device. And a 14cm bone pressed length. In my case I have 22cm over all length with 21cm cylinders and a 1cm RTE. So by that rule I would have a 14 2/3 cm bone pressed measurement fully pumped. I am pretty close to that and just a bit over. Maybe in part to the length expansion of the LGX or because of my anatomy. The LGX will not expand in length past its limits or the mans. So it will not enlarge the mans penis. But if a mans tissue does stretch and permits, the LGX will expand in length to it's limits as shown in the paper above.

I hope this helps.

I want to echo the thanks. I think I finally understand why my doctor used the CX when I wanted the LGX--to correct the curve that had developed. All I can say is that it is straight as an arrow now and I am happy.

RTEs or rear tip extenders are usually used to help the tubing line up with the area of incision in the corpora (corporotomies) when the patient has a deep crus (depth of the erectile bodies INSIDE the patient). In that case the RTE is necessary to avoid having to insert the tubing interface inside the corpora. In some cases an RTE is added because the patient's measured length doesn't match any of the available stock sizes so they use the RTEs to tweak the implant's size to the patient.

I got the Lgx yesterday, was very close call for a Cx due to old peyronies issues per Dr. but he felt the Lgx would be my choice so went with it. The peyronies plaque was massaged routinely for the past twenty years and very much disipated it - so I earned that Lxg. Lol

My doc used an LGX but kept me 80-90 % hard for 4 weeks. Hurt like hell. It did straighten a 15-20 degree bend at mid ship.
