JOURNAL / Revision Accomplished!! 3/30/21

Well I just made it home from my revision. The five hour ride well very well. The Doctor and his team at the hospital was wonderful, again. I could not have been taken any better care of anywhere!! I took one pain pill 3 hours into my journey home just as a precaution. This mummy looking thing in my pants is displaying itself proudly. Lol. I was sent home with a drain in place. I also had asked for extra lube for the catheter. She commented I was the fifth guy today to ask for that. All I can say is it worked. I’ve already urinated without any pain or discomfort!!
I’ll try to keep everybody posted on my progress.

Congrats and good job. I am so very glad it worked out. I will remember to ask for extra lube on the catheter the next time I get one. The worst pain I had after my implant surgery was my throat from when the anesthesiologist intubated me. I think a student did it.

That extra lube is our buddy Ray Watts idea right? So good to have a Rep who has an implant and knows what we are experiencing. Ray's the best!

Good luck Ronn1798, remember ice is your friend. Lol, i’ll have the extra lub next time too, Everthing is going well for me 2 weeks post tomorrow. Had a chat with my AMS rep about my reservore protruding out my right abdomen, she said to give it time, but if it is what I am worried about to ask the dr straight up! Why is this visible!? Sence there has been no real change Its going to be another round of recovery- the worst part F. Because I’m not living with this lump. Being optimistic for 2 more weeks. I applaud your courage Ronn

Well 22 hours after surgery and everything is going great. My reservoir is showing a little on the right side. I took one pain pill before the long ride home and one at 1am. I have not had any pain but did those as precaution. The mummy is a problem. Lol. I am having to get on my knees to piss in the toilet. Towels under my knees so I’m high enough and now I need something that can make the mummy longer lol. Took my miralax this morning hoping things start moving without a strain. Laying horizontal in bed taking it easy!!!

I found that using a hand-held urinal solved the problem of having to get on your knees. Did the hospital give you one, or can you get one. That will help a lot. Until I figured that out I soaked my wrappings with urine.

Hey rjdoan. They didn’t send one home but I sent the wife after one!! Did the trick. I knew about them but didn’t even think about it. Thanks for the help.
