Wounded, here is a thought:

You are worried about taking this big step, for a variety of reasons.

Here is what *I* am worried about WRT getting an implant: I am terrified of becoming YOU. SIX years of a non functioning dick? Putting that kind of strain on yourself, your psyche, your woman, your relationship? I am terrified of having to live through that in the future.

For now, hormone therapy and a small daily dose of Cialis work well enough for me. But I am scared to death of having to go through years of mediocre flaccid dick sex before finally being able to get an implant and be done with the whole horror show.

Again - scared of getting an implant? I am far more scared of becoming YOU.
Genetically sky-high Lp(a) of 390 led to various heart diseases. Ultra-low testosterone of 120 (now 480 with Clomid) also contributed to ED at age 41. Managing with daily Cialis, but for me, the implant is a "when", not an "if".

Woundedlion...I've read lots on this site from any number of other men who have suffered with ED for many more reasons than I have and echoed many regrets for not having an implant sooner. I am neither a doctor nor a medical rep for any of the leading prosthesis manufacturers and, like you, I've been VERY much concerned with this HUGE decision. I could regurgitate all the cons about ANY medical procedure that pertain to problems in a post-op environment. I cannot speak for being on the other side since my implant surgery is just one day shy of two months away. However, I had a 20+ question sit-down yesterday with my urology surgeon who has my complete confidence in going under the knife on 7/16. I ensured that I have the 100% backing and support from my lovely and gracious wife of 48 years even though we have not had sex for the 10 years prior to my decision to have the implant surgery. I am at peace with my decision! Yes, it IS irreversible but I would rather endure the pain of post-op for 4-6 weeks and have the ability to finally accomplish vaginal intercourse with my wife than just go on forever with just my trusty hand to bring me joy. I actually wish I had the procedure scheduled for next week! Our trip to Paris and river cruise through the Bordeaux region of France beginning on 6/15 is the only reason we've scheduled the surgery for July. I won't chide you to 'buck up', stiff upper lip, and all that. I'm 71 and don't believe the 'next big thing' to solve ED is just around the corner. I see my 'lifeline'/ timeline as being a whole lot shorter looking ahead than it is looking backwards. My only brotherly advice I can give is this: if you love your partner as much as you believe you do, then do it for you both. It won't be easy at first, getting over the 'why in the HELL did I do this thing to myself' question. If she is willing to work with you, as my wife is, please go for it. Ask your surgeon LOTS of questions and get as much ancillary information about both pre- and post-op issues from guys here who have been through more ups and downs than me. God knows I can't handle much stress nor pain nor rejection. I honestly believe that HE'll watch over my surgeon and give me exactly what I can handle. I'm sure HE will do the same for you. Commit to it and understand that you WILL come out on the 'other side' a better man who can offer his partner more passion and love in your relationship that will bouy you above anything life can throw at you. Attitude is 95%+ in this game...I finally realize that. I want more in what's left of my life on this Earth than my body can give me...I know that Coloplast and my surgeon can help me achieve that extra joy! Praying for you, brother!!

Also women would wonder why you have no erection during foreplay then the next minute... you disappear into the toilet and hey presto you return with a rock hard erection.

Also is it easy to have implant removed and reffited , and how many times can it be done ..in case of failure or issues .

I am very active, much more than the rest of my body can deal with 1/2 the time. The implant is no issue. No restrictions lifting or doing strenuous activity. Early on with both implants it often needed adjusting but that is nolonger the case.

I am on my second implant and see nothing that would indicate doing it a few more times would be a problem other than the time/expense/inconvenience of another round. Quite obvious the methodology and skill of doctors varies and a skilled one makes it easier. Researching before I tried for an implant, I ran across a couple of men who were on their 6th. 1 worked in professional contact sport and seemed to damage his. I know a man on his 5th and one on his 4th due to infections and idiot doctors that can't measure to save their ass. Both are happy now. With that many it almost sounds like spin a wheel dick, what will it land on next but everyone seems to do well. My advice is if you are not comfortable with your doctor, tell him to fuck off and find another.

Hey bud, I’m an avid basketball player and it’s really what keeps me fit and healthy these days. I’m nearing 40 so I won’t be playing too intensely, but was wondering if basketball can cause any issues with the device in regards to damage or reducing lifespan of the device.

Have you had any experience with this?

Personally I believe you should ask your doctor for advice but in my opinion, proper support during vigorous activity (jumping typical of basketball) shouldn't be a problem as long as you are wearing proper support for your scrotum. Just wear an athletic supporter/jockstrap when playing and I believe the pump should be well supported. The biggest concern from my point of view would be pulling on the tubing where it comes out of the cylinders, through the corporotomies. Since the pump continually pulls down on those tubing/cylinder interfaces, the pump should be supported to prevent too much kinetic energy from being imparted on the pump when coming down from a jump, which could pull too hard on those tubing connections. My tubes come out of my corpora toward the front of my penis and arc down into my scrotum to the pump. My theory is that if I pull the pump down too hard, those tubes can be pulled until they kink. Doing so too often in theory can cause a weak spot in the tubings at the interface.

Thank you and that makes sense. My basketball days are numbered as it is due to age and the group I play with. I can’t chase 20 year olds anymore and I’d rather pick up golf than nurse a torn ACL.

1.Will i lose more sensitivity ? I already lost penile sensitivity with some level of numbness
2, Will i be able to ejaculate normally and also still be fertile as i intend to have another child?
3.Im worried about losing a bit of size , (i am quite long but could welcome the girth increase
Ive read so much about and the post operation size loss (very hard to compromise this)
4.Im very active with sports especially cycling ,soccer, squash will it affect my sport activities (what if the ball accidentally hits my scrotum or penis ) will it cause serious harm ?
I also suspect my fussy partner might not like it afterall,

Please help guys i am in a desperate situation , I just beed a reliable erection on demand to please her , i would particularly like to watch the perfect video or read all the neccessary information to guide this decision. As at the time of this writing i am still reading and watching youtube videos

The IPP will not affect sensitivity. Neither does it enhance it.
Ejaculation will be a little delayed but usually more intense. As for fertility should not be affected in the short term anyway.
About 1/2 an inch shorter is typical. Use Titan for max girth.
Ask you doctor to give you very short tubes otherwise that much activity will cause them to tangle up. Good luck
You will have an on demand hard as in rock hard erection that will last longer than you ever will. :D

Wounded,

Here is my point of view:

It's a big decision. Probably the biggest decision you will make in your life. So take your time. Make sure nothing else works. Make sure you really want your life back. Make sure you really want to save your relationship. Make sure you have found the absolute best implant surgeon you can.

When you have made sure you know the answers to these questions - then you will know it is time to move forward.

I only regret not getting it done sooner. The psychological effect of getting this problem fixed is beyond description.

Why do you have ED? If you have venous leakage, I seen cure in the future. They are working on alternate repairs if it is nerve damage. IE using nerves in your legs to activate blood flow. I had an active sex life at 75. RP surgery removed my erection nerves. Tried injections and got PD and scaring from that with less than 40 injections. Got implant 9 months after RP. Love my bionic dick. Going from soft to hard? If I anticipate sex is going to happen, I pump it up 80%. That creates quite a bulge. I can go 80% for hours without pain. Just go for it.
