I am 43 y/o and had a prostatectomy done in December 2020 with unilateral never sparing.
I have been on trimix since beginning of April. My doctor prescribed me a "light" mix since I don't have any vascularization issue.
I started off with 8 units and had a solid erection for more than 2 hours. 2 weeks ago I started seeing my erections decreasing to the point that last week I didn't get any erection with 10 units. The pharmacy sent me a new vial since I thought something might be wrong with the last trimix even if I kept it refrigerated.
I tried again Yesterday with 8 units (new vial), and just got a semi erection for 1/2 hour. I guess I will try to inject gradually more. It am a bit worried though. Did anyone else experience the same issue? I literally just started the injections about 1 & 1/2 month ago so could the medicine stop working so quickly?
Trimix stopped working?
Re: Trimix stopped working?
What is your Trimix contents of the 3 components?
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.
Re: Trimix stopped working?
It says: Papav/Phento/PG1 30/1/5
Re: Trimix stopped working?
When I was on Trimix it worked fine for 2-3 years then began to be hit or miss. Moved me to Quadmix, which only worked for a couple months. Yes keeping the mix refrigerated is necessary, but it still loses potency even then. By 6 weeks in the fridge mine was no good.

The alprostadil (PG1) component of your mix, which is the most potent ingredient, is exceedingly low. I use an alprostadil (PG1) mono-mix at 80mcg and I generally use 14 units. It other words, you have plenty of room to increase in strength and volume. How many injections have you done? When I started out I had some failures that were due to poor injection technique. By the way, many if not most guys, freeze their mix.
Good luck. You'll get it sorted out.

Re: Trimix stopped working?
You should discuss this with your urologist/doctor. Injections have many different formulations and some work better for some men than others. The dosage you are using may still need to go up, but check that with your doctor.
I tried the regular trimix some years ago and it worked for me for about 1 year, and then not so well. My doctor at the time didn't give me any options, so I just quit enjoying erections. About 3 years ago, I decided I wanted to get my sex life back and changed urologists. I searched online in my area for a urologist that specialized in "men's sexual health." The new doctor immediately started helping with new ideas. The first thing we tried was a stronger formulation of trimix, sometimes called "super" trimix. It was much better than the original version for me, but still didn't work as I needed. I could get an erection, but couldn't stay hard for sex. As soon as my fingers, and the tactile feedback they gave me that I was hard, left my dick, I'd start getting soft. Eventually, with my doctor's advice, I decided on an implant, which I've had for about 2.5 years now. I'm glad I got the right doctor and also glad I tried more things before making the move to the implant. Now I'm extremely satisficed with the implant and I know I tried all the options available before making this permanent move.
So I had limited success with 2 different trimix variants and I've found on here that it is not unusual to have Trimix stop working over time.
Best wishes for getting things working the way you want. Let me know if you have questions.

I am just a bit surprised how well it worked in the beginning (only a month ago), to the point that it freaked me a bit out (I was hard as stone for almost 3 hours at some point)... and then suddenly nothing. All together I probably have done 11 injections, and 7 out of 11 worked great. Maybe I am doing the injections wrong but it doesn't seem to be so complicated: 90 degrees in, I am usually targeting more towards the base of the penis and of course on the side. Maybe I will try the freezing... how much time in advance do you need to take it out to unfreeze the mix?

I guess it would depend on the size of the vial. Mine comes in ten 1ml vials. If I take one out of the freezer first, before getting out the alcohol pad and syringe, then by the time I have the other ready the vial is thawed. I will often hold the vial between my fingers for a minute to warm it up a little more so I'm not injecting ice water. Larger vials will obviously take longer.
