Surgery Friday

Postby Blah1109 » Sun May 16, 2021 7:14 pm

So Friday is THE DAY it will happen, when recovering did you need any help from others or would I be good by myself?

Once I figured out how to get home ... I was good by myself. Just make sure the fridge is stocked, you have all your prescriptions picked up in advance, some frozen peas in the freezer (for icing) etc.

Definitely make sure to have everything prepared I need to call my doctor tomorrow and ask about the medications if I'm going to get them the day of the surgery or A-day before. I really hope it's smooth and can't wait to see the out come.

No help needed, just lots of rest in the first couple of days. Good luck.

Ask about wound care. For both of mine I was told to have Bacitracin ointment. 4x4 gauze. And ask if you need another jock strap to have a clean replacement to get you by. Stool softeners and if you can take it Motrin for swelling. As said some way to ice. I used dry beans as they have no water and worry about getting anything wet. I had 3 small bags to rotate. And have your meals and drink stuff made up ahead of time so you can stay as flat as you can for as much of the first 3 days. Books to read or stuff to binge watch to make the time go by. Best of luck to you.
Injections failed. Implanted 3-21-18 AMS 700 LGX 21 + 1 RTE 100 cc reservoir 6.5" L 5" G Dr. Kramer.

Aside from being driven home from the hospital because I was still technically under the influence of pain meds, the one thing I needed help with was lifting things that were too heavy.

The doctor's instructions included not lifting anything more than five pounds until I after I went back to him for my two-week follow up appointment.

That eliminates a lot of things. A gallon of milk or pot of water weigh more than five pounds. I didn't want to fuck things up by some stupid mistake like that, and neither did my wife. So, I called on her to pick up a lot of things in those first couple of weeks.

I hope this helps. And I hope the surgery goes smoothly, brother.
