Glans

Postby Pau1pau1 » Mon Jun 21, 2021 5:56 pm

Hi I have just had an appointment with a urologist who has told me the glans will definitely not engorge after a implant. I thought it had a different blood supply than the erectile body.
He also said the implant feels cold when erect.
Can anyone confirm this
Regards

Let's face it, an implant isn't going to be as good as a naturally working penis.
Everyone is different and some get engorgement of the glans when aroused.
Mine doesn't, but it looks natural but is somewhat colder to touch.

All I will say is what's the alternative?
I also have to take some time to ejaculate, or what passes for that.
That could be age related or just that it takes longer than my wife likes.
Old age sex is different and we have to enjoy it as much as possible.

Inject testosterone weekly.
Implant on 1/22/19 by Dr Avila.
Scrotal, hor. incision just over 1"

Gleason 6 prostate cancer. Monitoring it for now.
Update: On my last biopsies the cancer wasn't found.

Paulpaul, What was the cause of your ed? My prostatectomy surgeon s aid he removed both nerve bundles. My glans had minimal blood flow and was cold. I called it a popsicle on a stick. It was pale white and wrinkled. Now 3 years after implant it gets flow (sometimes). I will take whatever I get. Nice to see my roses red glans again. Doubt I will ever see it engorged, hard and purple again.

In my case, before my implant I was already having trouble with my glans engorging. My uro told me that if I had engorgement before I would after. He was right, it is exactly the same as it was. However, he has worked with me to try and improve my glans engorgement, prescribing daily Cialis and on demand Viagra, as well as giving me the go ahead to use a cock ring. The three things combined, give me better engorgement than I have had in years. The implant didn't affect it at all it seems.

I wonder how many implanted patients this urologist has?

Does your glans engorge now? If it engorges now, it should engorge after implant (absent some misadventure during surgery).

My girlfriend says my penis does feel cold when erect. I suspect this is because, when erect, it has more surface area exposed to cooling air. That is to be expected. There might be some diminishment of warming blood flow. With a natural erection supported by body-temperature blood (which may have some warming exchange during the time the penis is erect) the penis may be kept warmed. With an implant, body-temperature saline does into the penis (inside the implant tubes) and stays there, not exchanged (and re-warmed by your body's core), so may be a little cooler.

(In a humorous note, you can keep your penis warm by putting it in a nice warm, wet place. :D

Are you sure you want to go with this urologist? He seems to me to be less than fully communicative. I expect my surgeon to talk to me about how things work and not just tell me his/her conclusions. I want to be considered an integral part of my own health-care team. But that's just me. Some people just want to let their doctors handle things. I do not fault that approach, but that ain't me. Since you asked this question, I opine that you want your surgeon/urologist to explain such conclusions (as I did). So, I took considerable time and effort to research both implants and surgeons before going under the knife.

Don't some places do glans injections to temporarily enlarge anyways? If it really bothers you, it seems there are options.

After having my implant three months ago we noticed that the glans was cold to the touch and soft. Wife did not like that so I went to my doctor and he prescribed this gel I insert in my urethra and in 20 mins I get really engorged feels warm and the sensitivity is way better! I don’t use it all the time for sometimes it’s very spontaneous. But when I want the real deal I have this medication I got from my doctor.

As I understand it, the gel is probably alpostrodil (trade name, "Muse") and is not tasty. This is the reason I rejected trying it out after oral medications began to lose effectiveness. So, it either of you are likely to taste your semen (her doing fellatio or you doing cunnilingus after coitus) be prepared for a different taste than you may have experienced before.

Alpostrodil supppositories are far less invasive than injections and a viable alternative to oral, VED, implant or injection, but that one feature was enough to make me reject it. Maybe we should have tried it. But my girlfriend at the time liked fellatio to orgasm so I skipped over that option. Certainly it would have been better in some ways than an implant, but I made my choice. You have the option to try it. I hope you will report back how it works for you. Even after implant, the information will be valuable Please post in the "Injections" site as well. It will be informative.

The "gel" that the urologist prescribed for me (to facilitate glans and shaft engorgement) is similar to tri mix that is used in injections except in gel form. I'll check but I believe that the gel is a mixture of Papaverine, Phentolamine, and Prostaglandin. The gel is prepared at a compounding pharmacy. I'll follow up on the proportions.
Only use .5cc. This gel really works great.

My Ed is from a venous leak, The gel you are referring to , is it a pellet that you insert into your uretha?
I will not be going with this uro I just wanted him to refer me to David Ralph , maybe he wasn’t happy with me not choosing him .
I thought the glans had its own blood supply , seperate from the corporal body’s
