Semi Rod Implants.

Anyone have the semi rod implants. I like to know the experience you have. Such as how long pain was and how your rod is working? I am having it put in 8 July

Hey Ag, "ball park" what was the cost of your 3rd round did Medicare pick up all or any? My judgment day is coming up, I've been reading everything I can get my eyes on regarding Malleable's (you blog has been very informative too) to prepare myself for the worst, hoping for the best trying to stay positive.

Speaking only for myself, I got in under the gun for the year, so I did not pay for anything (I already paid my out of pocket, which was about $5500.
However, I still got the bill, so I know how much it cost.
Since Chesapeake Urology gambled and put off doing the surgery for what they knew was an infection, cost was about $41K, about $9K more if there was nothing. I am guessing the malleable surgery costs just the same as a 3-piece surgery.

Ag, I've got the copy of the bills paid thus far on me, they are for the 2 surgerys just under a hundred K. A lot of dough in my world. If I get the Malleable will be so wasteful and sad. My Doc called me in tomorrow 12 days early form our prearranged opt. I have been sending him good Friday reports So I'm hopeful but the DAMN scrotum fixation is bad so it may shoot it all to hell.

You paid $50K so far for 2 surgeries???
I would not say the malleable would be a waste of time, for me it was because I lost so much that what was left made it so that when I went to put my junk away, just bending it down, it was just enough length to rub up against my pants.
If you are pre-surgery hung, then things may be different.
Also, even if you were my size, almost 5", your reaction may be different.
Mine was driving me crazy that I wanted to get out of my clothes as soon as I got home!
I wish I knew about investing in baby socks...just long enough to cover it up and not brush up against pants.

All total for the 3 surgeries was under $100K...out of pocket was about $11K.

My Doc wanted to verify my impressions of the recovery from the ball infection, He was incuraged too and asked me to keep going, not doing anything much for just two more weeks and then I can resume cycling. So woohoo Fingers crossed I keep my implant he said this almost never happens afer the bad one I had. So im happy but God damn it it’s going on five months!! Yes 93 k and change for the two surgerys.
