Injuries to the penis: torn frenulum?

Postby Flavio » Tue Jul 27, 2021 11:46 am

Here's an uncomfortable topic: injuries to the penis are much more common than we think.

Peyronie's Disease and penile curvature may sometimes be the result of trauma. And according to Doctor Egydio, some of those injuries may even occur during sleep. Now that's a scary thought!

Better safe than sorry: a few precautions should be taken, e.g. some sex positions are riskier than others. Make sure you are not putting too much strain/weight on your penis, woman on top is a definite no from me. And don't try to imitate some of the crap you see in porn: those movies are dreadful and totally fake.

I believe I may have partially torn my frenulum because of rough sex recently. There was no bleeding and no pain, just a very slight discomfort and a bit of swollen skin. It's enough to make me avoid any kind of sexual activity for the next weeks.

Hi Falvio,

Sorry to hear that dude. I was wondering why you have been quiet for a while. I hope it's just a suspicion, and you can get back to the game fast because you are a valuable member for this forum especially with all these different try outs you have done on drugs and your opinions about the future treatments.

Feel better!

Thank you for your kind words.

The injury is not serious at all but I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to my penis and I will avoid sex for a while. I also put some Betadine and Bag Balm.

I'd love to hear the opinions of other FT users, if anyone had a similar problem please tell us about it. Sharing experiences is invaluable.

Wow I've been doing some research on this subject, these injuries really are frequent.

Everyone agrees that sexual abstinence is essential, to allow for the penis to heal properly.

Here's an interesting testimony on YouTube:

I had experienced a torn frenulum? Ouch! It wasn’t the main reason I did an adult circumcision but it was a contributing factor. No longer an issue now. But when it was it was a painful issue.
Diagnosed venous leak. Going with injections rather than implant for the time being.

There was no pain and no bleeding in my case. The injury happened on 19 of july and it was just a minor tear (almost unnoticeable) and a little bit of loose skin. It seems to have healed almost completely, I don't feel anything now.

Now that I think of it, I believe I have experienced similar injuries before (I remember there was bleeding once) but I never paid any attention. They are not serious and they will heal quickly but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take the necessary precautions, e.g. no sex after an injury.

I think the video I mentioned previously is very interesting because the poster didn't follow the no sex rule and ended up worsening his injury. According to him, he had sex a couple of days after the first injury and there was a lot of bleeding and pain but even he said in the comments that it healed very quickly.

Several urologists have said that these injuries are increasingly common because of porn. Don't try to imitate the crap you see in those movies, they are completely fake and heavily edited.

I have torn mine many times in my younger years. I suffered no real blood loss and only mild discomfort or a little stinging for a few days. It never stopped me having sex. I just used to rub a little bit of Vaseline on my frenulum and was good to go.
I had a RP in 2016 and a year later My psa started to rise resulting in having 37 sections of radio therapy. 2021 Testosterone replacement stopped due to psa rising again. Oncologist says most likely coming from a malignant source. I am at my wits end.

Same here but I didn't even notice it at the time.

I use a brilliant cream called Zovirax Duo immediately after intercourse: it is an antiviral and steroid cream that improves healing.

An enthusiastic girlfriend (who ended up being the first girl I had full sex with) tore mine when I was 17 years old (I'm 65 now) and she 16. We both panicked and worried about it for a week or two but it healed with no lasting problem. The trouble was there was no internet or anywhere else to get advice from then of course!
Born 1956, married late 70s and still happily married.
Radiotherapy for PC 2016 left me with ED. Viagra not good enough on its own so experimented with VED, result biggest hard-on and staying power. My wife loves it and can't get enough, happy days again!
