What happens after an infection?

Hey fellow Frank talkers.

Can anyone tell me what happens when an implant gets infected? Is it removal and the end of your sex life? Has anyone here had an infection and can talk me through their experience?

Just looking to my future and it's almost certain that I'll need more than one implant during my lifetime. From what I read, more implant replacements = increased risk of infection. Is this accurate?

We've had at least 2 guys who had bad infections after implant. Both had their IPP removed for several months. During that time it is vital that you use vacuum therapy daily or you will permanently lose an inch or more in length. Larry never regained his even with an LGX and daily VED. Wes was luckier I think. But he never got it all back either.
So yes there is sex after infection and yes you can still have more implants.

Newbe said it really well, I had an in infection 3 weeks after my first op and 3 weeks after my reservore revision op. The first was cleared up handle with antibiotics and the Dr was quick to respond. The second infection was worse and I was on antibiotics for 6 weeks. The Dr wanted to do a recovery mission and was ready to reschedule his appointments to do this at a moment’s notice. I was forceful in not having it done till we gave th antibiotics a real chance. I am now cycling like a crazy man attempting to reclaim an additional 1/2” loss due to 4 months lost during the infection recovery. I am still happy we did nt have to go back in. I would add to newbe do your best to have early morning operations both of mine were done later in afternoon and I believe this impacted my outcome negatively. My second op, I had a surgery nurse say hi im stepping in for Mary because she needed a lunch break, wtf. Yes life is tough Ben and we do the best we can I am loving my 5.5 incher hoping for more. Is it removal and the end of your sex life? Heck no! As soon as all is calm and the coast is clear, the Dr. will go in and put an appropriate implant.

Has anyone here had an infection and can talk me through their experience? This is MY experience.

Yes, waynetho was the one who mentioned me. We had our implants roughly at the same time. But lucky me, I came down with an infection. In one year, had 3 surgeries for same issue.

What happened? Hell if I know. All I know is that my balls swelled up to the size of a grapefruit, literally, and when the Dr. when to pump me, he tried to force the issue and I held his hand to stop him. Like I said, the infection was in my balls, but it was all taken out and replaced with a 2 piece malleable for about 4 months.

What was the outcome? I got a 3-piece and am fucking whatever I can right now! Deflating is a bitch at times.

You gotta be more specific because I can tell you stuff, but may leave out things. I wrote what I was going through at the time, in my journal, so that is more complete, but after a year....will leave out a lot of stuff.

One question... Did you revover any of your lost size in the end? I didnt know if after using the IPP for a while it can stretch things again?

Its my understanding that the infection can cause extensive scar tissue. It seems that this tissue needs to be removed from inside the corpras. Mainly because scar tissue doesn't stetch in a consistent manner. So long story short. Regaining size lost during the infection is far from certain. Anyway this is my basic understanding. I would be happy to hear a better or more complete description if I've gotten anything wrong on this.

My first implant was twenty years ago. Have had two revisions after the first. Never have gotten an infection. Love my LGX by AMS. Looks natural, big and works great. It is important to get a surgeon experienced on how to do it right.

All I know is that the infection was in my balls.
As for the stretching, I got back the thickness, as for length, meh...still working on that.

Did anyone have their surgeon prescribe antibiotics after their surgery? Seems like a good precaution. At least initially.
