Well day 3 , had a bad night last night! Had 6 hrs sleep in three days, ugh! Swelling started last night cause of the uros PA when he put me in the torture chamber to deflate it, man that was rough! I think i tore the leather table i was on gripping so hard, lol. I have to keep my penis taped up for now straight up to my groin until i can find some underwear that will hold into place, wife bought a jock strap but too tight in the waist, no go and some other ones with a pocket, but wouldn't hold it in. Back to square one. Got a shower in, that was great.finally had bowel movement and pressure on reservoir decreased some, whew! Stopped taking the pain drugs, they constipate me. The small bleed on sack from wrestling with pump stopped. So far so good, but my penis still thumps once in awhile like when you first start an orgasm, one thump every so often, dont know what thats all about but wished it would stop doing that! 6 wks no touchy, ugh! Wifes getting a little ornery having to do everything, but cant help it! Dogs mad she cant sit with me,lol. Thx,guys for your imput.

Hey Leebert - hang in there man!

Everybody's recovery is a little different - yours sounds pretty typical so far. The first few days after surgery are the roughest - then things start to settle down and things get better pretty quickly. Ibuprofen actually helped me quite a bit - especially at night when trying to sleep. Try to just sit or lie down and do nothing for a couple more days - getting up and down was the worst part for me.

Hang in there man - totally worth it in the long run.

Congrats and you are through the hardest part. It just gets better every day. Stay on top of the pain, don’t wait for pain to take the Meds. It’s too late. Stay frosty, better days just ahead!

Thx guys appreciate the incouragement. Dont have any pain in genital area much except incision. Tried pulling on pump and thats a no go! The tube to pump has a half a loop showing by base of penis that im sure goes to the pump cause when i tried to pull down, i seen it move( hurt like hell!) Maybe in a couple more days I'll try again, any thoughts to make it easier?

Well, i was looking over the well known underwear and dont think it's going to work for me cause i have to keep it up straight for another 5 wks. Those are all pointing downward, any ideas ? I have a athletic supporter and boxer briefs that have a big pouch for the whole package, but when you wear awhile the loosen up some allowing to slip sideways.also , i haven't been able to pull down on the pump, hurts too much and it's really pissing the boy's off! Any suggestions?

Leebert - a couple thoughts:

Your surgeon has instructed you to pull down - correct?

Assuming that is the case - try pulling down when in the shower or bath. The warm water has a way of softening and loosening everything up down there.

As far as the underwear goes - I never had to do anything special - my surgeon left me uninflated and didn't care which way it pointed (and everything turned out fine). However - have you done a search of this site on "underwear"? There are some specific brands that some of the brothers swear by.

Howdy again Leebert. I know…..more advice.

I was in your boat. I never wore underwear. Gave it up at Ft Polk Louisiana in the mid 1980s due to a really nasty case of crotch rot and never looked back.

I do have quite a few jockstraps, the lace-up type did ok post surgery but not great. The remaining undies I have were totally unsuitable for the task of post surgical support. Both were gifts from my wife, a camo mesh thong and a black leather jock.

What finally solved the issue, which never was a real problem….was right in my bottom drawer. Spandex, square cut swimsuit. The cut gives you enough space to point it up towards waistline without sticking out. The spandex is stretchy and holds you in place but does it gently. They’re also cool.

I’m notoriously cheap so no, I didn’t want to squander money on skivvies I would never wear. The swim trunks have been to beach numerous times. And they are low profile so are snug enough to wear unobtrusively under shorts or trousers.

I was also a guy with big balls with a pump that refused to drop. I was getting a bit worried at the six week mark even though the doc kept saying tug snd pull and it would be fine. They finally told me that if it didn’t, that it was something they could fix by opening up scrotum and repositioning it and it wasn’t a big production number to do. So I kept tugging and pulling and I woke up one morning, about a week later, with the pump at the ideal spot. I never had much pain from the tugging, so I’m going to suggest avoiding any forceful jerky movement. Slow gradually increasing pressure was how I approached it.

Thx for the info guys. I like the sound of the spandex holding it up rt, but for now it will push the pump tight to the sac and balls which burns like crazy when pushing against scrotum, maybe in a week I'll be able to do with little or no pain. PA did it second day to deflate a little and thought i was gonna pass out! The pump has these little grippy things on it that really hurts bad to touch, now i can take a lot when comes to pain, but that is too much for me,ugh! Im sure ill have more questions and i guess its all about time. Lol, wife is over playing nurse maid and the stress surfaced this morning, yikes! Lol
