Sending home deflated, using VED advised?

Today i had a consult with assistant from the Dr. She said i will send home deflated and the first inflate is in about 6 weeks.
I have read a lot of Dr's sending their patients home inflated or letting them start cycling in the early days for preventing building scar tissue.

It is useless arguing with them about this. Hè is one of the most high volume Dr's over here and has a very low infection rate. Hè is also a center of exellence.

So, given this. Should i use u a daily ved for preventing scar tissue?

There is no need to argue with your surgeon. You might want to take up the issue with the manufacturer's representative. He (or she) might have some insight into your surgeon's approach.

In one of my posts in that thread, I cite an article that references "Early Activation" vs "No Early Activation" (NEA) to mitigate the "Psuedo-Coffin Effect" of scar tissue forming a restrictive capsule around the implant that would restrict inflation of the implant. Of course, the other side of that coin is restrictive scar tissue around the reservoir that would restrict deflation of the implant. Obviously, cycling fully inflate and deflate is important to optimal operation of the device.

Once you have a full appreciation of the issues involved in what degree of inflation is optimal, you can have a meaningful discussion with your surgeon without being oppositional or argumentative, but hopefully your surgeon will see you as a participatory patient interested in being a helpful member of your own medical care team. Thus will have incentive to give you the information and assurance you seek.

I believe use of a VED BEFORE surgery is a good thing for maintaining elasticity, size and tissue health. There are studies published in legitimate medical journals describing inflation protocols (without constriction rings and the protocols do not involve sex - only inflation/deflation cycles) that can even recover (recently) lost size.

Yes you're right. Not implanted yet. But it was my question for after the implantation. Gjmjoe017 thanx for answering.

Gjmjoe am i right that you also waited 6 weeks before activation?
Did you have any problems building scar tissue?

I am scheduled for my implant in 9 days and asked the same of my surgeon at John Hopkins, another center of excellence. I was told there was no concern for increased scarring, and that it is important for the reservoir to remain full during the six week healing period so that the body would heal or adjust to the reservoir taking up this new space (these are my words to attempt to describe his explanation), as in some cases they have observed some patients experience auto inflation as the surrounding area for the reservoir becomes very tight. Hope that made sense

But I agree with the advice of many others that say listen to your surgeon as everyone may have a slightly different circumstance
