Worried I have VL

Postby Gavalar09 » Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:42 pm

28 years old.
No morning or night erections.
Cannot get hard on my own at all, only times I cod is with my gf and usually have to use 5mg cialis.

I did manage to stay hard, switch positions, and stayed hard whilst flirting and going down on her.

Does this eliminate venous leak?

It sounds like a VL is a "possible" causation. The only way to know for sure, is through a doppler ultrasound performed by a good urologist.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

Step away from the ledge.

Venous leakage isn’t as simple a diagnosis as people think. It’s also not as difficult to treat as some guys think, especially at a young age. And there are remedies, effective ones, ranging from as simple as a daily use cialis pill to stronger pills to injections to pills AND injections to ultimately an implant.

Having used one FREQUENTLY for the last 21 months, trust me when I say that if your end result is an implant, life isn’t bad at all.

People hear venous leakage and they think of a vein, like one of the visible ones in your dick. They think leak, they envision something like a leaky faucet or a water hose that won’t shut off. Not entirely wrong, but pretty misleading.

The erectile bodies are spongy. They absorb and are filled with blood under arterial pressure. This squeezes the spongy tissue off, closing off avenues of escape for blood. So you have more flow in, causing the erectile bodies to enlarge and stiffen. This puts even more pressure, creating a more effective seal.

Venous leakage is when you can’t get that seal. It might be congenital (something you were born with). It could be injury. It could be lifestyle (a diet of Coors and Marlboros is not conducive to erection health). There may be no discernible reason.

When you’re younger, your overall cardiovascular system may have enough excess capacity to overcome a little VL. That’s pretty much my deal. I had it but never knew it, the only erections I had any experience with were mine, and I thought that one lasting 3-4 mins at best was normal. I was married and in my 30s with a wife wanting me to slow down and enjoy sex instead of trying to maintain an erection via heroic levels of stimulation that I was compelled to find out if something was wrong. In 1986 the options were pretty limited. Nowadays there’s lots of options so CALM DOWN!

Here’s a few pieces of “the bottom line”:

You won’t know until you get a full work up by a doc. Try and find one who knows something about male sexual health. A family practice doc might need to give you a referral but (except for a few isolated cases) he’s not the go-to guy for answers.

If it isn’t VL, it could be other physical causes, it could be performance anxiety, a gazillion causes. Get checked out.

If it’s VL, that’s not bad. There are plenty of fixes and workarounds. Your life is far from over.

If you end up implanted at 65, your biggest problem will not be lack of sex. It might be fatigue.
Age 68. Physically fit educated red neck in Texas. Very married. 23 cm (18+5) of LGX installed by Dr. Bryan Kansas 12/31/2019. I fought the ED and my wife & I won. I’m either full of shit or sound advice. You decide which.

You say it's not bad but I'm 28.
This is detrimental to be.

I get no morning wood, no night wood, I can no longer get hard by myself.

As for docs, I'm in the UK, so it's not as simple as contacting a uro. It's a extremely long journey.

If you are not getting any morning erections or waking in the night with an erection after REM sleep (sleep after dreaming) for a long period, I would suggest first getting all your hormones tested. Night time erections are very testosterone dependent. Any other symptoms of low T such as depression or lack of energy, loss of muscle mass? T levels can drop in a young male due to lifestyle as well.
I talk about venous leakage a lot in my previous posts, go back through some of them to see how I describe and what causes it.
Age 57, ED issues for 15-20 years. Testosterone replacement with Enanthate and Ovidrel. Currently using generic Tadalafil 2.5mgs and Resveratrol daily.

My total testosterone is very high. Unsure about my free test though. SHBG was slightly high

In UK it is not a long journey to meet an uro. Don't be stupid.

Doppler ultrasound is the only way to check if you have a venous leak.

There are worst cases than yours. I've had VL all my life. I've never had a 100% erection.
65 yrs, had venous leak all my life, sildenafil and other pills don't work anymore properly, using Caverject with pills.

Thanks for the reply. Does Caverject injections work for you then?

Gavalar:

You’re right to be concerned. No 28 yr old guy wants the worry of being impotent, having a limp dick, not being a whole man. For that matter neither do 65 year old men, or even 90 year old men. That itch never seems to really ever go away.

But you need to quit putting Rene Descartes before the horse. Before you start trying to zeroing in on solutions, a correct, valid, grounded-in-reality diagnosis is crucial.

To answer your question about Caverject. In my 30s and 40s it worked. It also gave me the worst case of achy dick you can imagine. Now, when they mix the Caverject with two other compounds to make TriMix, I could inject and it worked great until I was in my late 50s/early 60s. Even then it worked some of the time, it just got unreliable in terms of time.

Your emotional state is so critical to erection capability. Use me as an example. Back in the days before any pills, injections were new, and implants were experimental and not considered suitable for a 29 year old.

Armed with only a cock ring, keeping my health good by exercise and a proper diet, I was able to relax and quit worrying sufficiently to enjoy good sex with a roughly 80% erect dick. Wife was happy with it. We would save the once a week bi-mix injection for the weekend but had good sex every night. And trust me, I had bad VL and was born with it.

Attitude is critical. You can and will conquer it. The tools are out there in this new modern age. In the 80s doctors used to tell you it was all in your head. It’s not, there are real physical causes. But what’s going on in your head can make it worse. Or better.

Telling a guy in his 20s to be patient when discussing sex….I’d have better luck having a conversation with a toaster. But seriously, start the journey with a single step. Find out for sure what’s really going on. Then proceed to fix it. It can be fixed.
