I’ve searched absolutely Reddit post, implant forum and ED forum and I cannot find a single bad review for the inflatable penile implants. I’ve seen guys who don’t appear satisfied because they’re not ready/confident enough to attempt sex yet, one man who never used his because of a stroke that took away his libido, and a good handful of stories about sizing issues being the sole source of a patient’s displeasure… but to me those are all extraneous factors…unfortunate circumstances, or obstacles that don’t really reflect what the implant promises to repair. It really seems like once they are successfully installed, satisfaction is a guarantee and it just seems too good to be true. Even guys who’ve had revisions don’t seem to have any complaints.
I have an appointment tomorrow where I’m going to discuss the implant with my doctor, as I’ve been deep in the throes of ED depression for months now (had ED for years). I’m still not ready to make that decision yet…I just wanna talk. All I’m hoping for is to be able to reliably have sex again, without fear of disappointment. I am so tired of avoiding intimacy at alll costs because sex has become a whole ordeal. I’m tired of having to explain to women that I can’t do things how they like because I was injured. I want to be able to put my ED depression and anxiety behind me. I just want to fill my role as a man and to feel functional again. At this point I feel my expectations are reasonable. I want to own a functional dick that can get hard on demand. That’s all. Anything is better than the way I’ve been living, and how it makes me feel inside.
An implant has to be too good to be true.
Too good to be true?
Too good to be true?

Re: Too good to be true?
Welcome to the forum!
Just so you know, there's a whole sub-section dedicated to implants, so you'll probably get more info/interaction on the subject over there.
As for the "Too good to be true?" question - I wouldn't get into that mindset, if only to keep from disappointment. Implants, like practically every other medical solution that helps people, seem amazing, a lifesaver etc. But, also like practically every other medical solution, come with limitations, problems and drawbacks.
Obviously they are a good solution, not saying they aren't, they wouldn't be still used if that weren't the case. But don't go forward thinking it's gonna be magical, unicorn (or pussy?:P) filled walk in the woods.
As discussed here on this forum before, there's no "right" answer to getting an implant. You have to do a lot of research and decide for yourself. And try to not be influenced by other people's experiences and opinions (i know that's hypocritical since i am giving an opinion, but i am trying to be as neutral as possible ).

40 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.
Re: Too good to be true?
Well you're one up on the game by reading forums and other men's stories. There are drawbacks to any surgery, but as far as my thinking goes the risk of getting an implant far outweighs the depression of not being able to have sex.
I went into my surgery blind. Knew nothing about these forums. Found FT at 5 months post.
Many times while healing questioned myself as to why I did this. Now at 2 years post it almost seems too good to be true. Anytime the wife wants some I'm ready in a few pumps!

Re: Too good to be true?
In my case having an implant that was properly sized and not having any pre-existing issue like Peyronies, it is almost too good to be true.
I can only imagine having one when playing the field, but I stick with my almost 81 year old wife who won't say she loves it, but seldom turns down sex.
She did tell me I should have done it years ago instead of pills and injections.
The key is getting a surgeon who doesn't shortchange you imo

Re: Too good to be true?
Dang I didn’t know people actually responded to this, I never got the notifications lol
But yeah though…obviously nothing is too good to be true…and that’s what worries me…however like I said…In this moment i am sure that I prefer the alternative to this. All I want is something reliable and long term.

You only get notifications if they respond to your post by quoting.
Getting an email, I think, might require toggling a setting as well.

Just wondering about your age. Explore this site and create a signature that tells more about your situation. It will help you find the correct answers. Maybe comments from younger guys if you are younger.
