Implant Surgery is Off for Good!
Implant Surgery is Off for Good!
I was to be scheduled in November of last year for an implant. I posted a few threads about spontaneous erections I was still experiencing and my family doc, as well as a few of you, suggested I hold off on the decision. My uro had told me flat out that after 10 years of ED problems, the "tissues involved in an erection will never function normally again. You're out of options at this point". I dug further into my personal research, mostly into T therapy as a blood panel showed I was converting T into estradiol at a high rate. I found an article about a guy with a history identical to mine. He had most recently been on Androgel and T cyprionate self administered injections just like I was. The results were as dismal for him as they were for me. He had it suggested to him that before going the implant route he at least try pharmacist compounded T cream as many guys had extreme success with it. In addition, it's cheaper by about four times over what the pharma companies products cost. I am on my second round of two month refills and last night had the most satisfying sex with my wife in over ten years. I am having wet dreams more than at any other time in my life too. I have no idea why the compounded T is working so well. I am pronouncing myself cured of ED after all these years. The guy I read about who went this route experienced the same thing. I shudder to think how close I came to being implanted with a foreign device! Of course, your mileage may vary but I can't suggest highly enough you at least give compounded T therapy a few months trial before getting an implant. I'm already planning another round tonight and just the thought of it is awakening the heretofore sleeping giant in my shorts. Best of luck to you. I guess I won't be needing this forum anymore. I've deeply appreciated the candor of the replies I've gotten here and feel deeply for those of you whose lives are affected by this insidious, unfair encroachment on our manhood. I hope what I'm suggesting is as effective for you as it has been for me. It's a great feeling to know I can greet my wife at the door when she gets home and take her straight to bed now. Our daughter, who was our last child living at home, got married a few months back and my wife and I have the house to ourselves now. It was thrilling last night to hear my wife loudly enjoying our encounter, and very stimulating as well!!!

What a come back, (couldn't help that!) but really, that is great, and congratulaions to you for figuring it out. And you being just a mere mortal and out doctored the doctor!! Glad you waited, implants are great but only if that is the last resort.
age 74 married, Robotic RP Dec.2009. Implanted Jan 2011 with AMS 700LGX and AMS 800 AUS. (AMS 1500). IPP failed March 2018 , leak. Planning an AUS revision (total replacement) in 2018, now I need the IPP too.

Congrats on your find. I have been using compounded T cream for almost 3 years because I had tested as having osteopenia (pre-osteporosis) and my doc thought T cream might stabilize or turn back the osteopenia. It has improved measurement in one bone area and stabilized the measurement in the other problematic bone area. Unfortunately it did not cure my ED though.
I did find that there are differences in the cost of the T cream and Women's International Pharmacy in Phoenix has good prices. Also I started out using a small spoon to measure out the daily application but in the last couple years have used a "clicker" method. The pharmacy supplies the cream in a clicker device and I only have to turn the bottom either 2 clicks or 4 clicks, depending on the current dose and it pushes out the correct amount. That is easier and more reliable than the spoon method. The doc has to write up on the prescription to use that.

Sorry you did not have my spectacular results. I too get the twist/clicker diapenser in 100mg dosage being applied with four clicks. I shaved my balls and apply it directly to them. Prior to this, the best T therapy I ever had was skin patches you applied to a shave scrotum. They were wildly effective but discontinued for some reason. You're not supposed to apply directly to balls, but I don't care. Might as well go straight to the source. This could be why I am having such great results? The sking of the scrotum is four times morew absorbent than any other skin on your body. That HAS to be helping. I've slimmed own and am acquiring visible muscle tone at age 59 doing this. Now, if it would just reverse my graying hair!

Re: Implant Surgery is Off for Good!
I called the pharmacy listed in your article and she told me the only thing it could be is a compounded T cream. But there must be something special about it. Im on Axiron a pure T underarm application. My T is up to 900 but Im having no ED improvement. Thanks for your help.

If what you are using has your T up to 900 I would guess that more T is not going to be an ED solution for you. There are potential problems with increasing your T too much; there is some evidence that it could cause prostate cancer and you don't want that for sure.

My Rx is 100mg/gram and I use 1 gram/day. Be sure you use a doctor that understands the risk factors associated with it though and does periodic lab tests to measure your T, DHT and estrodil levels and understands what the levels mean. Those levels were off a little for me so my doc has me taking some supplements to prevent harm.
