The end of one journey the beginning of the next

Postby biobob » Fri Dec 24, 2021 7:25 am

Hi everyone, I’m a long-time reader new poster. I sincerely thank everyone for their posts which have helped me understand my issues and pointed me in the right direction. I'm almost 70 now, in my younger days I never had trouble getting an erection but lots of issues keeping it. I was a long-distance bicycle rider which may made have made my situation worse. I thought I was normal until I began reading the posts on FrankTalk. Over the years I made my life tough with a lot of bad decisions. I have made and lost fortunes and had many bad relationships as well as many great adventures. 15 years ago, I met a wonderful woman. She knew my sexual performance was bad but she didn't tell me.
I started using Cialis about 10 years ago and it worked ok. I was able to get erections on demand, but immediately after ejaculating the erection would go away. I starting taking meds for enlarged prostate and high blood pressure. As the years went by it became more and more difficult to get an erection. If I could get an erection, it would take a large amount of stimulation and take more than 10 minutes to get hard. 3 months ago, I took 2 20mg Cialis at the same time and developed severe pain in my neck and back which required multiple trips to the MD and 2 rounds of steroids to cure. Following that incident, I became unable to get any kind of decent erection. This has become the biggest obstacle I have ever faced. Injections did not produce a good erection and have decided to go for an implant. Reading the posts and journeys has made it clear that an implant is the best path for me. I made an appointment at Duke with Dr. Lentz for January. Again, thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences and advice here.

The implant was the best decision I've made in a long time. The first couple of weeks of recovery was challenging but life is good now!

Welcome!

Can you tell a little more about the 40mg Cialis --> severe pain in back / neck. I've recently had some interesting "exertional headache" (pain specifically in one back corner of head) that has occurred both lifting weights and while approaching orgasm. I'm not yet able to correlate it to Cialis / tadalafil. But with my intermittent use of the drug (days on then days off) I may be able to.
ED since mid '20, with slight Peyronies. Thus begins a search for the right solution(s); 56yo a/o Sep '21. Three months into my quest (12/21), I think PT-141, Cialis/tadalafil 20mg and L-Arginine (maybe other herbs) are a winning formula. For now.

Hi
I usually had been taking 20mg of Cialis just about 3-4 days a week for 10 + years but it was becoming very difficult to get an erection. It often took 10 minutes or more, was only fair and didn't last very long. I decided to try 40 mg of Cialis, same result but when I work up in the morning, I had severe pain in my neck and lower back and could not lift my head. 10 on a scale of 0 to 10. I went to my regular md, he sent me to ortho, had X-ray and cat scan. I have arthritis in neck and lower back spine but they were unable to explain the sudden onset of really severe pain. they put me on a 10-day course of prednisone which slowly made the pain go away. Then went to neuro md again no explanation. following that I am unable to get any erection at all even with a lot of stimulation and 20mg of Cialis, I have not tried 40mg again. The pain has resolved completely at this point.

I do weight lift 2-3 times a week and have never had any back or neck pain from that
