Risk/Reward

Postby defiant » Mon Jan 10, 2022 9:25 am

Hi all,

Just another post seeking some reassurance really.

At the end of the day, I know virtually all there is one needs to know before heading down this path but I still do have some function.

With cialis and some peace of mind (which is in short supply these days) I can just about make it through an encounter. But cialis is waning in its efficacy. And that encounter would be fraught with anxiety, doubt and trepidation.

I'm a shadow of my former self. I have zero confidence to pursue women. I'm withdrawing into my own little world. Masturbation is absolutely dreadful and often results in orgasm through a semi, my zest for life is diminishing, I look at hot women and automatically think 'I can't', there's constant internal conflict between will it stay up vs pleasure.

In short, it's ruining my life.

There's so much potential for an amazing life on the other side of an implant and I want to feel free. Free to pursue all the pleasures of life and any woman I want to pursue. I've got a lot to offer and luckily, I'm popular with women. I want marriage, kids, the whole nine but I just feel paralysed.

Not keen on injections. I tried it. They're just not practical IMO.

My question is this, what are the chances I could suffer some disastrous outcome ie: infection, floppy head etc?
I'm not diabetic, fairly decent shape, average sized dick approx 5-5.5''.

I plan to go to an elite surgeon, don't worry. I know that that's key advice when it comes to implants.

I just wonder what my life is going to look like if I continue with the status quo vs. getting an implant.

It's either a very conservative life with the chance i may meet someone along the way who I'm barely interested in who i just settle with and maybe it improves or I grab life by the balls, take a risk and maybe avail of all the benefits an implant has to offer; being on-demand, confidence, positive overspill into other aspects of life etc...

It sounds to me like you are answering your own question. The reward potential for you seems to be well worth the risk, especially if you minimize the risk by going to a world class surgeon, e.g. Eid or Hakky.
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.

ED is a terrible thing to happen to any man, much less someone so young. It made me very depressed, several times really when ED first hit, then when pills failed, then again when injections failed. Once I had my implant and healed things have been much better. My confidence is high, no depression. Stop letting something that is fixable ruin your life.
Injections were a pain, both to take and having to interrupt the mood to go jab a needle in your dick. My dose got so high my dick would ache all day the next day.

It’s especially difficult I think, when you’re in your younger years and you have some semblance of function remaining. But yes, agreed. Top surgeon is a must. I’m London based so can’t really use Eid or Hakky. Well I could but it would cost a fortune. Luckily we have someone over here who ain’t no slouch in the implant arena.

@defiant let me give you my two cents worth -

Bit of background on me first: 37, type 1 diabetic and I have been in a near identical situation as you for the last 3 years. I am also UK Based.

I developed Peyronies disease just under three years ago which has resulted in a 75 degree dorsal curve which has made sex near impossible when I put myself in that position. Since my PD began, I avoided sexual encounters with no less than 8 woman - that is, I got them back to mine, into my bedroom, them naked and then anxiety got the better of me and i took things no further. I have recently had an 8 month relationship breakdown due to the combination of PD and ED, probably psychological as well which has ultimately forced my hand into an implant. Your story and the way you feel sounds very similar to my feelings and although i can get very healthy erections, they are often hit and miss, regardless if i'm on my own or with another person. That said, even if i do get diamond hard, the angle is so severe penetration is near impossible and where it is possible it feels very unnatural and uncomfortable.

I saw three urologists before meeting with the 'chosen one ' Mike Fraser from Glasgow Nuffield. My operation is scheduled for Feb 14th and to say I'm excited is an understatement. I truly believe it will make me a different person and for the last 3 years i have been a shadow of myself.

The thing with ED, is , more often than not it gets worse rather than better, Some would say hold off for as long as possible to save an extra revision but what's the point if you can't have enjoyable sex now and you don't enjoy life as much as you think you might with an implant.
Implanted by Mike Fraser in feb 2022 due to a 80 degree dorsal curvature. 18cm Titan - way undersized. 8’ pre Peyronies, 6’ pre implant - currently 6’.

Thanks for the input, mate.

Ohhh, a Valentine’s implant for you, then! I ardently hope and pray it goes perfectly well for you and is the wonderful beginning of the rest of an amazing life for you!!!!

Yes, couldn’t agree more. There’s always those who say hold off if you’ve got XYZ and that’s fair, measured advice and this is not a decision to be taken lightly, by anyone. But…these are really important, formative years where a man needs to be able to rely upon his function to have the confidence to go out into the world, meet women, form a relationship and consummate it.

It’s surely worse to waste these precious years umming and ahhhing, all the while losing out on time you could be spending putting this all behind you.

It’s a tough call for sure, for me anyway. But for you, I’m just glad you’re soon to put this behind you!!!

Of course, when the man has some function, it is difficult to decide but I think you have a lot to receive from the implant if you decide jt.

What's up, mid-30's gang checking in. I see a lot of similarities. I looked into an implant 5-6 years ago, but for all the nightmare scenarios you mentioned I decided to pursue every other option first. Now I've done that, and effectiveness of those treatments has fallen to ~0%, so it's pretty straightforward logic to me:

No surgery = my dick doesn't work, no sex.
Failed surgery = my dick doesn't work, no sex.
Successful surgery = my dick works, sex.

Even the failed surgery outcome doesn't leave me with less of a sex life. The only option that has a good outcome is surgery. And it's not a long shot, with surveys showing patient satisfaction anywhere from 75-98% (depending on the survey).

My surgery is scheduled for two weeks from now. I know the recovery is going to take awhile and won't be pleasant, but I am so grateful that I am born in a time where there is a surgical solution available that is safe and has a high success rate. I understand being nervous, but I can not wrap my head around how someone would rather cling to a life of abstinence or embarrassment than attempt a straightforward, well-recognized surgical solution.

Mid 30’s. ED since early 20’s. Pharmaceuticals were helpful initially, but stopped working. Implanted with Titan 22cm -.5cm (no RTEs) by Dr. Clavell 1/26/2022.

Hi
Whatever you do it is important to be positive about your choice and visualize success. I was a healthcare admin for more than 30 years. Subjectively the patients who came with a positive attitude seemed to do better than the patients who told me they were going to fail. I have decided to get an implant (first appointment Jan 20) and I know that I will succeed.

This is so true in my opinion.

Mindset is at the very least, half the battle.

Thanks for the input and good luck with your journey!!!
