I have the AMS 700 LGX 18cm, it works well and get hard as a steel spike and no wiggle at the base and I have 3cm rear tips.
I’m just recently had my surgery 5 Nov 2021 and I’m about 10 weeks out now, the pump is getting more comfortable and finding its place between the boys.
The AMS pump is large, but it is easy to grasp and pump.
I’m an avid Road Bike cyclist and when I got back on the bike for the first time after surgery, the pump seemed to rub the boys, so I went with a Easy Seat II saddle which has no nose and doesn’t touch the boys.
I know the Titian has a smaller deflation block, and if I had it to do over again, I would prefer a smaller block down there for cycling.
Hopefully, I can go back to my ISM PL 1.1 Saddle which does prevent pressure in that area since my body is getting use to the implant.
I’ve heard that some men have problems with the Titian pump because of diabetes and dexterity with the fingers and hand. I don’t that problem
I hope this helps some.

i like my titan, it has a bigger diameter then AMS, see attached photo
Figure 1 above: Four different implants, AMS 700 CXR, Titan Narrow Base, AMS 700 CX+LGX, Titan
Some older women believe that the titan girth is too much, but I suppose some size queen women want the titan girth.( I am not a woman, but I have heard stories that women say that the size is not critically important, but rather they place importance on perfect motion and good hardness---both AMS and Titan are plenty hard enough)

Re: AMS vs Coloplast is such a tough decision
I have a ams cx, love it, but he used a preconnected one and he only puts them in, i have no experience with the titan, but didn't want the girth there known for because wife was too tight. I didn't think the cx would grow much in girth which her and i agreed with, but pre-op i was 5" in girth, after 4 months, surprise, its stretched to 5 1/2" now in G , but it's goig good with that and gained my 7" L back when engorged. Very happy with it and it feels like my pre-op natural penis and most the time i dont even notice any difference, except the bulge when going away, but i own the way it looks. My pump sits front and center cause i think by using a pre connected device he tacked it to scrotum to hold in place, but wont admit it! If you go with a CX ask if its a preconnected one, i would've preferred to had it not be, but when your under in surgery its to there discretion what to do at that time. You can see the tubes on my rt side, more so sitting. Im all and all happy with it other than the tubes, your sac with toughen up eventually so it dont get sore much anymore and i still feel it stretching yet. GL, IT ONLY GETS BETTER AND BETTER,lol.
I'm 65, heart attack w/stent 10 yrs ago, mod.HBP, married 46 yrs, retired.2 strokes. No damage, except start of Ed, Live in Ada Michigan. implanted by Dr. Wise in Grand Rapids mi. Implanted on 9/2/21 with 15 cm + 5cm rte. Ams 700 cx ms pump
Re: AMS vs Coloplast is such a tough decision
Leebert,
I don't understand the problem with the pre-connected tubing.
I have it and don't see any issues with it.
I do like that fewer connections a surgeon makes would equal fewer chances for failure.
Were you given the infra-pubic or peno-scrotal installation in case that mattered?

Re: AMS vs Coloplast is such a tough decision
Here we go again, another of the "Which brand is better" threads.
No offense to the bloke who started the thread - but this is really useless.
Just look at this thread. Plenty of posts where people praise their model, and tell the world (the FT world at least) that "they couldn't be happier".
This goes for people with both brands.
Since AMS has a higher market share (maybe because it is easier for an inexperienced doc to insert and most implants are installed by low-volume docs), more people on FT has AMS than Coloplast and hence there will be more praising stories of AMS than of Coloplast in any of these (useless) threads. But since more or less everyone praises the model they have, it doesn't really mean anything.
I am the same. I only had a Titan, but think it is better than an AMS. For sure, I can't really know, but that's still what I think.
Based on facts and research, I'd like to think, but most likely due to psychology as well. Once we have chosen something over another, we want to justify our decision and keep telling ourselves our choice was correct.
So you won't get the answer on which brand is better by asking people.
And I know you asked for answers from people who had both.
But 95% of your answers will come from blokes who had one brand only, and they will sing the praise song for their brand.
The facts most of us can agree on are:
Ranking in terms of hardness when fully inflated:
1. Titan
2. CX
3. LGX
Whether that difference is relevant is individual. If you don't even inflate your LGX to the maximum, then of course, the extra hardness offered by a Titan would be totally meaningless. But if you're like me, inflating my Titan till the limit, making it so hard that I just can't get another little drop of saline into it - then moving to an LGX and losing that level of hardness is not attractive to me.
Ranking in terms of softness when deflated:
1. LGX
2. CX
3. Titan
Again, whether that difference is relevant is individual. If you are like me, and think my Titan's flaccid is perfect, even leaving a couple of pumps in there once in a while to make it larger and firmer - then I wouldn't really care much for a softer flaccid. Even though the ability to go even softer of course wouldn't hurt. But for someone who even thinks his LGX flaccid is a huge problem - Titan is not for him.
Ranking in terms of pump size, smallest first:
1. Titan
2. CX and LGX
Does it matter? To some maybe, to some not. If you are one of those people who doesn't give a shit if your partner feels/sees the pump, and just appreciate the fewer pumps needed to get hard - well, AMS wins. If you will want to do anything you can to avoid your partner feels the pump - choosing the minimum size is of course a good choice. Poor dexterity in your hands? Again, a larger pump would be preferred.
Ranking in terms of girth, largest first (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10 ... 17.1339292)
1. Titan
2. CX
3. LGX
How important is girth? To me it is, to some it isn't.
The study above, and several others, also ranks them in terms of resistance to buckling. I.e. if your woman on top lets it slip out, sits down on your dick, how likely will it bend?
Best resistance to buckling:
1. Titan
2. CX
3. LGX
Important? To me yes, but for sure not to all.
And then there is the length...
Some will tell you that since the LGX expand in length when it is inflated, so will your dick. Some guys will think that "Oh great. I'll just get an LGX and my dick will be longer than with a CX or Titan". Not that simple. There are several studies I have read that very much tones down the magical length-increasing features of the LGX.
Here is one: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10 ... 17.1339292
And here is another: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28537700/
Differences after a few years is minimal.
The length expanding feature of the LGX does give the doc some slack though. He can get away with a shorter implant and still avoid the floppy head. So if you picked a low-volume doc, perhaps the LGX is a good choice again.
Reliability, time till failure
Different studies will show different results of course. What I believe, from reading studies and reading on FT, is that this is the ranking:
1. CX and Titan
2. LGX
Even though studies put the Titan on top, like the one linked above, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28537700/, there are a few issues among FT members with the Titan tubing connections.
Then there is the peyronies disease.
Obviously, the harder and firmer the implant, the better the chance to straighten your crooked dick.
So...
1. Titan
2. CX
3. LGX
And then I guess we should rank them in terms of room for degree of fuck-up for your low-volume doc. Easier to install at the top:
1. LGX. Expandable length gives him room for putting in a bit too short cylinders and still get away with it. And then there is the smaller diameter RTEs and fixed rear part.
2. CX. Smaller diameter RTEs and fixed rear part.
3. Titan.
Infection?
Some data in the past favored the AMS if I remember correctly. But that might be wrong.
But that is a tiny, tiny little difference in comparison to you picking a high-volume doc. That will significantly decrease your risk of infection. Picking a local low-volume doc and then worrying about which implant gives the lowest risk of infection if the definition of straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel.
There is a pretty famous doc in NY who uses mostly Titan and has one of, or maybe the, lowest infection rates in the world.

Nice writeup, merrix.
That should answer the OP's question.
I wonder if using preconnected tubing would decrease the failure rate?
I'd guess it should?

[quote="merrix"]Here we go again, another of the "Which brand is better" threads.
Very well done merrix, great post! I am here 6 years later and scheduled for implant mid July. Dr Arman Loeb UH in Cleveland, he will use the titan (his suggestion). After watching him on YouTube I am feel confident in his abilities. I have been away from this board for a long time but now medicare covers this procedure (according to the doc). I hope this is correct. Anyway, thanks for all the contributions from you guys!
