In the hands of a good surgeon, your dick is not going to significantly shorter (it depends how you define significantly but certainly shouldn’t be more than a cm) and most definitely not ineffectual for months. At 6 weeks you should be able to fuck well enough. Often even sooner than that.

But I do agree you should tell your girlfriend about any intention to get a penile implant. It’s a life saving procedure, dude and ultimately, nothing to be ashamed of. Keeping an implant secret is surely going to be extremely hard to do and do you even want to have a relationship that isn’t based upon trust, openness, compassion and tolerance.

Shorter was based on my experience that I went from 8.75" to 6.6" inches. That's over 2 inches lost the day after surgery. Now two months later I'm back around 8". I'd say penile implants will change your dick size for a while. I made a post and have plenty of proof about this - I made an imgur album to track my progress before and after implant. Most everywhere else I ever comment with this everyone first just says I'm lying a lot lol, but PM me if you want proof.

Ineffectual for months was admittedly an overstatement. At least with my AMS, though, I wasn't masturbating until 2 months after surgery. I'm sure some could sooner, and "ineffectual" was not the best word choice lol, but at the same time I'd say the difference is wayyy beyond noticeably significant.

Also "fuck well enough" is one thing, for a girl you haven't fucked before. This is his gf, who has fucked him many times. I can't really understand the logic of a person believing a committed partner wouldn't notice the difference. Penile implants are not something we can hide from partners.

After an implant you can never for the rest of your life get a natural erection.

I honestly have no clue how you lost that much post surgery, man. Maybe it’s because you’ve got a big dick but as I say, in the hands of a good surgeon, post surgery, a patient should only really be noticing a cm or 2 of length loss. I’m glad you’ve recovered it though, mostly.

That is really interesting. Honestly I've got no idea, though I really, really don't think it's a "good surgeon" thing. Kinda assumed it's like that for everyone? But if someone has a 5" dick then post-surgery they'll be about the same?

I was 8.75" x 5.7" pre-surgery - I've got a handful of measuring pics/videos confirming that length when I did manage to get a good erection (not easy!). That was also my stretched flaccid length every time.

For implant size specifics my doctor wrote, "You measured 24 cm so we used a 21 cm implant with a 3 cm rear tip extender on each side."

I was 6.5" after the implant was activated, then 7" after week or two of cycling. Girth was 5" at first, not much increase since then, about 5.5" now. Getting longer/girthier since then with more cycling, VED, lots of stretching/exercises, and probably lots of masturbation. My flaccid length was also roughly ~4.8" before implant and now it's above 7" when I bone press measure it flaccid (only above 7" by less than a cm).

Today I received my VED in the mail. It's the SomaTherapy OTC Manual System: https://www.edpumps.com/Soma-Therapy-OT ... ityman.htm

Cost me $200, but it's so much easier to use than a prior VED I had ordered off of Amazon. I just followed the instructions for VED practice that came with the manual, giving it 3 pumps every 10 seconds until max erection. I felt some stretch, but not overwhelmingly so, and I kept it at max for 30 minutes before hitting the pressure release valve.

I know some doctors don't seem to value the use of a VED before implant, and some like Dr Perito say to quit using it a week before surgery. My doctor, Dr Loh-Doyle said I can use it daily up until the day before surgery though. Mine got pushed back to February 15th, so I've got a little over 2 weeks of daily VED therapy sessions before my implant.

Also, it hasn't been confirmed yet but Dr Loh-Doyle may also do a scrotoplasty at the same time of the implant. I've got scrotal webbing that goes halfway up the underside of my shaft that really interferes with condom use thanks to an overzealous doctor that did my circumcision during infancy. From what I've seen, people who've had a scrotoplasty seem to think it was worth it, with the only drawback being longer healing time post-implant due to the additional stitching.

I get that everyone is different but I don’t get why you or other people don’t want to tell those closest to you about the implant. I’m 36, and have my op in 16 days time, my whole family knows as do all of my closest friends. My mum is even coming with me for the operation and recovery the following days after, I’m moving in with my dad for a month to recover and one of my closest Friends has offered to ‘test it out’ for me once I’ve recovered. Am I embarrassed? Hell no, I can’t wait to have a bionic dick and put every natural erection to shame , assuming the procedure goes to plan.

On a serious note, unless your GF Is blind, stupid and quadrpedic she will know, or at the very least she will find out eventually. She will notice the size difference immediately following the operation, she will undoubtedly feel the pump in your scrotum at some point and she might even notice the cylinders in your shaft. Your flaccid is also very likely to be bigger and look a little abnormal for a while and surely she is going to wonder why you have suddenly gotten so diamond hard?

You should tell her, for both support and out of respect to her. She will find out, and when she does I feel her reaction and view on you not disclosing the implant to her will be far more severe than you think.

Just woke up from surgery and was moved to a new wing. Before the procedure, Dr Loh-Doyle introduced me to Dr Boyd, who is the surgeon he trained under and seems to have a really good reputation as an implant specialist. I was implanted with the AMS 700 LGX with the infrapubic approach. On top of that, I also had a scrotoplasty to get rid of the penoscrotal webbing underneath my shaft. I think the scrotoplasty was performed first though. Both were approved by my Blue Shield of California PPO.

It feels like I got kicked in the dick even with the IV and pain meds, but it's manageable. I have to stay overnight and then tomorrow I'll be discharged once Dr L-D gives the okay. Right now he says I need to have at least 10 days away from work even though I don't do heavy lifting. Tbh, I'm not in any hurry to move around though. I'm gonna have a super boner for a while and that would just draw unwanted attention anyway lol.

USC Keck has a great team from top down. Most of the doctors and nurses are personable and are making the experience easier. Only complaint is that the food here is awful. Somehow even the chicken broth and jello taste bad, but that's pretty much all hospital food for ya in my experience.
