What is your experience with multivitamins?

Postby tonydante » Fri Feb 04, 2022 10:11 am

Hey everybody,
I recently visited one of the best uros in my country to discuss my ED problems. If you aren't familiar with my story, you can read my introductory post. To sum up in a few words, I'm 19 and I've had worsening ED and other symptoms since I injured myself masturbating at the age of 12. Meds don't work.

The uro said the next things to try are some course of multivitamins and supplements for 3 months. If this doesn't work, then we try injections and if/when they fail, ultimately an implant. I am at least happy that things are moving in some direction.

However, the idea of a clinic selling multivitamins and supplements to me seems kind of shady. I want to ask the fellow members here, what is your experience with such products? Do you know if they are able to cause unwanted side effects? Did they make a difference to your problems?

Thank you in advance.

I’ve never heard of multivitamins or supplements fixing ED. Sounds shady.

And if they are prescribing injections ask for the prescriptions so you can shop around. If they refuse and say you have to buy directly from them, find another urologist.

Can you imagine an MD saying you have to buy insulin or high pressure medications ONLY from them? But there is quite a bit of that going on with ED docs. There shouldn’t be.

Try Probiotics, changes in gut can fix the problem.

It is highly likely that an association between men’s sexual health and the gut microbiome exists. Future studies should begin looking at this potential relationship with the aim of developing targeted diagnostic and therapeutic tools.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys, a quick update - I looked up the ingredients in the supplements I was prescribed. It's basically extracts of some fruits and herbs, some Gingseng, and Dicalcium phosphate. I don't have much hope in this treatment improving anything, but I'm willing to try it, so me and the uro can consider injections seriously.

My question is - do you think the aforementioned ingredients can have any adverse side effects, for example, can they make my ED potentially worse for some reason? I know I am probably paranoid with this over-cautiousness, but I have gotten to a point where I don't trust doctors at all. My accutane story is a good example of that.

Thanks in advance.

Pomegranate juice, Beet juice, L-Citrulline don’t give bad side effects.

Ginkgo Biloba can give anxiety.

I have no idea who your doctor is but he seems to know what he's doing. Vitamins and food supplements may be helpful, I've mentioned antioxidants several times on this forum.

I take vitamin E in combination with udenafil for increased efficacy.

Just don't expect immediate results, this is not Viagra.
Age 40. Psychogenic ED for over 20 years. Current regimen: Udenafil 200 mg, oral phentolamine mesylate 40 mg, Seredyn.

It's worth a try I guess. My experience with any herbal supplements designed for male enhancement or performance did nothing at all. Those were not from a doctor though.
If the doctor starts you on injections that should show if you are still capable of getting an erection. Hope something works out for you before you have to take the final step.
