Bladder control

Postby Dlareg » Wed Feb 16, 2022 12:25 pm

Implanted yesterday, Dr. removed catheter this morning at which time I involuntarily pissed on his office gurney. He briefly commented that it's odd for that to happen and wondered aloud why that urine didn't drain into the bag.

This afternoon I got the urge to urinate and didn't make it to the toilet before a brief stream released. I've read a lot on this board over the past few months and I don't recall reading about this. Any thoughts?

59 yo in relatively good shape. Been lurking here for months soaking up as much as I could.

I guess the questions needs to be asked... how long does this go on.

When I finished prostate cancer treatment over 2 years ago, I had issue with bladder control, but was controable. Even after the urge to go, I always had enough time to find a toilet.

However, nine weeks since implant and it's a lot worse. Often not enough time to find a toilet and end up pissing in my pants which can get embarrassing. I have to be proactive on bathroom stops with the slightest urge, I look for a bathroom fast.

This is not fun.

Nine weeks seems excessive. I had the problem for a couple days and pretty much back to normal now.

I had a bit of trouble prior to surgery but it was a lot worse afterwards. I ended up seeing my uro about it and was prescribed medication that helps a lot.

What meds are you using?
I'm on Myrbetriq for pee and works pretty well. Tried Tamulosin and didn't work well.

Myrbetriq gives me better control. Still a bit of leaking but very minor and not enough to need any kind of pad or special underwear. I used to go in a stall that had TP and I would fold up some TP and wrap my glans with it. Then tuck in my briefs. Have not even had to do that with the Myrbetriq.
