These answers are confusing to me. Why not just call a taxi to take you home. Or get some of the staff to drive you home. I mean, granted price of gasoline is high, but not as high as the $20,000 to $30,000 surgery.

The reason is that most hospitals have very strict rules about patients being released into a designated person’s care who will escort the patient home safely. That would rule out an Uber driver or a taxi cab as they only take you to your destination. I had to have a paid escort service take me literally only across the street to my hotel room. Dr. Hakky not only requires someone to take you to your hotel but to also be with you for 6 hours.

Guys, I'm a 27 and I'm from Italy. I'll have to go as far as Atlanta to get my implant. My surgeon is Hakki. I wanna go solo, but almost everyone told that, given the huge distance, i should get there with someone. However, due to several reasons, i'd take it as something humiliating. I've already lost my dignity as a man because of impotence and I'd rather address pre and post-op alone. Would it be too risky?

I think it’d be better for your mood if you don’t go solo for this. Also because the days following the surgery are usually awful and you need some mood enhancer.

Simple answer. You hire an aide. Here they're called CNA's. They are trained but not an actual nurse.
What does it matter for someone in the healthcare profession to know about you. All of the staff that Hakky uses will know. What does one more medical person matter?
Bottom line is. Whoever you have do your sugery will have rules. Whether you like the rules or not doesn't matter. The doctor has made those rules based upon his best judgement or the rules are given by the hospital. Pretty much, your only choice is to follow them or they won't accept you as a patient.

@SearchingUSA: qq - how long did it take for you to go back to work after the surgery?

Thank you.

Sorry, probably not much help here. I work from home, so I was 'back to work' on Monday after having surgery on Wednesday.

I agree. Living in Tokyo, I cannot request my GF to take two weeks off work and just fly around the world for this. Airfare alone perhaps over $1000, and it'd be miserable. And never, ever tell my parents / sister about this. Way too embarrassing, I'd never hear the end of it. I am searching now for doctors who can take me goin' solo.

If you find someone who will accept us wacky solo-ers, please let me know.

Hire a nurse assistant or sort of. At your age I would ask my father for moral support and post op recovery.

i really don't understand what is so embarrassing about getting an implant?

Bend the truth a little, say you had a freak accident during a crazy sex session and damaged your penis. Nobody HAS to know you have ED. I didn't, I had a severe case of Peyronies and at 36 years old, i was not afraid or embarrassed to tell my friends and family and i am so glad i did
Implanted by Mike Fraser in feb 2022 due to a 80 degree dorsal curvature. 18cm Titan - way undersized. 8’ pre Peyronies, 6’ pre implant - currently 6’.

I don't see a problem with going solo. If you are in Atlanta, you will book a hotel close to Dr. Hakky's clinic. I believe many of the surgeons offer transfers to and from the hotel. Booking your surgery early in the week, ie Monday or Tuesday, will be a good idea, in case you need any urgent care. It will be a 5 mins drive to the doctor's location.
