Update: day 6 post surgery.

Last night, as customary, I went to bed without taking painkilles, however at around 4am I woke up with a strong burning sensation around the tip of my penis. It was just a localized burning sensation, however it was strong enough not to let me sleep. I took 2 Tylenol 500 and after 1 hour I managed to get asleep again, waking up at around 8am. With just 2 Tylenol I managed the discomfort and I was able to rest for long enough to feel fully rested.
When I woke up, despite the Tylenol effect was fading, I was experiencing no discomfort while lying in bed, however when walking around the room, expecially after around 5 continuous minutes, I was feeling again the buring sensation at the tip of the penis, the burning sensation was disappearing as soon as I rest for a couple of minutes in horizontal position.
Today I will complete my cycle of antobiotics prescibed by the surgeon and as far as I can see the incision is healing very well with no inflamation around it. I am purposely not using ice so to leave my body naturally recover without obstacles, so far with excellent results.
I am still a little concerned about tomorrow trip back home (4+ hour flight) but I feel confident that there will be no major issue.

My biggest takeaway from all this stuff on this site is this…everyone on here is kind of a pussy. These docs are giving us out lives back and the vast majority get a great result. We continue to complain about the aches and pains and lose focus from what’s important…getting hard and getting out size back
42 ED for 9 years vl after a fall. Pre implant 8 1/4 bp x 6 1/8 ish
Clavell titan 26+1 rte…post op very excited: 8 5/8” x 6 1/4” (7” base)
Starting to lose some length

I fully agree with you, I actually have zero complaints with respect to the great job perfomed by my surgeon and I think my diary is showing that indeed it is not such a huge excruciating painful thing, it is actually, so far, all the opposite. I look and I admire my new little permanent toy and I am very greatful to the FT community for the informations that I managed to gather from here, so to be ready for action...and now I am Bionic too!

Since you had three surgeries in one, suspect yours worse than most. I myself am looking at only two surgeries. Thanks for allowing me to look in the future. Information you gave, invaluable.

Indeed it should be lighter for you, especially if you are not having the ventral phalloplasty, your external incision will necessarily be much smaller, so chances are that you would experience even less discomfort than me. And I am experiencing close to no discomfort at day 6 post op. Crossing fingers for tomorrow flight, hopefully I won't need to use painkillers but most probably I'll take some just in case.

Hey all, as a counterpoint, everyone heals differently. Some of us have a lot of bruising and swelling and it is indeed quite uncomfortable for a few days or in some cases a few weeks, though there are also those like CanalGuy who recover like absolute champs.

It’s all within the range of normal, so don’t panic and think you had a bad surgery if you’re having to use your pain medication. Though my pain has definitely tapered off over time, I’m 6 weeks out of surgery and still taking a few Tylenol per day as needed, which Dr Clavell confirmed as being normal.

Regarding how soon is too soon to fly, I had surgery on a Wednesday and took a 4-hour flight that Saturday, so ~72 hours of recovery. I probably wouldn’t have wanted to fly any sooner, but I was comfortable enough at 72 hours that the flight was very manageable with the normal cocktail of pain meds that Dr Clavell prescribed, and then drive myself an hour home from the airport with no issue.

Mid 30’s. ED since early 20’s. Pharmaceuticals were helpful initially, but stopped working. Implanted with Titan 22cm -.5cm (no RTEs) by Dr. Clavell 1/26/2022.

I am on the plane ready to fly back home. No issue with airport scanners. I took a couple of painkillers just to make sure that I won't be in a bad situation while flying. Taking off very soon....

Yes I am of the opinion that if you fly within 24 hours after the surgery, you will automatically benefit of the surgery anesthesia and you should feel no discomfort, even without painkillers.
