Anyone implanted long time ago?

Postby oaaaak » Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:23 pm

Hello,

I am 26 this year and considering an implant surgery soon.

Is there anyone that got the surgery long time ago? (like more than 20 or 30 years, maybe 50?)

I can see so many reviews of people that got implant several months or years ago, but cannot find anyone that got it longer than that. As this surgery will take me to live with it for more than 50 years, I really really want to know how it's like.

Thanks.

Despite your age. You should consider that many of the 20+ year survivors have died. I believe that the frequency of implants in the young has been increasing over the last few years. I know that my father in law took his to his grave. He can't be the only one. FWIW, I think he got around 10+ years out of it. No revisions that I was ever aware of. He seemed happy with it. Never bitched about it even once.
I seriously doubt that it was anywhere near easy to get insurance to cover an implant back in the day. Especially if you was under 50. So in essence, those guys are going to be super hard to find mainly cause they die. They were old ish to begin with.
Just my opinion.
Btw, I think implants have only been available for around 50 years. I can't imagine any of those still being around.

You're lookin for people that on average were 65 or more during the '90ies. They're likely died.

At best we may hope to know something from people implanted during the first decade of the 21st century (2000-10). I'd be curious too.

I believe most implants are supposed to last 10-15 years. Going on 2 1/2 years myself, and no complaints. I was 68 when implanted. If it lasts me 10 years I could be dead by then or too damn weak to do use it anymore.
But if all is well, I'm still alive and strong enough, and my implant fails YES it's getting revised.
Here's my thought on being implanted at a young age- technology and medical science will continue to improve. Implants will be better, and doctors will find better surgical techniques. Even if you have to have two or three revisions over your lifetime that will be better than never being able to have sex. And each revision could be a much better implant.

To you both. I'll answer your question with a question. Why on earth would a happy man with an implant be visiting an implant forum & reading all the guys that just can't understand that there is a real workable solution to ED?
In my time I've seen the posting frequency of happy members really decline after only a few years after their implant. Most men don't feel any value to reading the same old stuff over & over. If nothing else, trust me on this. Every few weeks there is a post from doubters looking for that elusive final data point that removes all of their fears.
Your ED isn't likely to go away. Lifestyle changes seldom help. There isn't a cure from an obscure doctor somewhere. Any potential new treatments are ages away. Just look at the thread about the electronic implant for a good example. The medical treament steps are well defined whether we like them or not. Its taken 50 years to get implants to this point. Even Viagra was only approved in 1998.
Sorry guys. It is what it is. This picture won't change. If your penis has stopped working. You need to follow the common steps. Pills, injections then an implant.

At 26 it's a legitimate question. You may need several revisions. You don't want arrive at 45 and discover that you can't get another implant because you had too many surgeries. Ok maybe you have no choice but talking to a very long term user could be reassuring. It's a one way trip.

Your concern is valid. It is your perspective that doesn't work. Here we are in 2022. I see lots of young men asking about their options. Go back 5-10 years & browse for a few pages. You won't find very many members under 30. Even at 40 there isn't many. How can you expect to find 10, 20 or even 50 year users when they weren't even asking about implants in those year ranges. Face reality, implants while not a recent invention have taken a very long time to become very popular. I asked 2 different urologists about implants 9 years ago. They didn't do them. Even now, in my state I only know of 2 implant surgeons. I'll guess that there might be a third.
To those of you looking to hear from long time users. They don't exist. 20 years ago implants weren't offered to young men. In reality, you're basically looking for a unicorn that for some reason. Despite being happy with his implant, he still visits this forum. It isn't going to happen.
Btw, I have ran into a guy that was implanted at 17/18 who did post about his revision around 11/12 years later. Oh, I challenge you to find a member that was refused a new implant because he'd had too many. Too many implants is an internet myth.

I know exactly how you feel. I’m 35, pills rarely work and I have a horrible fear of needles. But I’m also scared to get surgery and my wife is against it (she is a nurse in icu and whenever i talk about it, she brings up stories of her patients with implant issues). Oddly I’m surprised I don’t hear more implant horror stories on this board.

It’s scary to think I could have 5 replacements! Aka 5 surgeries! It’s scary as hell!

I’m merely replying to say “I get it and have your same concerns”

Could the lack of horror stories reflect that there is a very low complication rate? Do us a service & list the names of implant doctors in your area.
Lets say the revision risk a different way. Wait 25 years, being celibate, to get your implant at 60. That way you'd have a really good chance of only needing 1 surgery. Sounds like a crappy plan doesn't it?
Get the implant when you're young, have all the sex that you can. Btw, does your wife miss sex?
I postponed my circumcision for several years. In the end, it wasn't even close to what I had feared it would be.
