Update: day 7 post surgery travelling back home.
***4 hours international flight***
Last night I slept without pain and without medication.
At morning I woke up with medium strength burning sensation around the penis' tip.
Having to stand a long trip by plane I took some Tylenol (2 x 500mg) and a prescription painkiller, just in case. I then massaged all my genital area with lidocaine cream 5% to numb the area and reduce the sensitivity of it. Following some other brothers advice, I wrapped my penis inside a baby sock and I made sure that the sock was fully loaded with lidocaine cream too. Then I used my jock strap to hold the penis toward my belly and I was ready to go. Of course I took a shower before the penis wrapping and I used Hibiclens Antimicrobial Skin Liquid Soap to make sure that my baby stays bacteria-free. I reiterate that I stopped using ice from the very beginning as, based on my researches, it would prevent the natural healing process to occur and the results are impressive, no contusion and close to no swelling so far.
I made the checkout at the hotel and called my Uber and I was at the airport ready for check-in. I then passed the security scanners without any problem, they didn't detect anything suspicious and it was an international flight, which most probably implies more security checks and possibly a more sophisticated scanner.
Between checking-in, waiting time and flying time, plus the time to reach my house from the destination airport, I would say about 7 and half hours in total travelling around. I have taken no further medications not even antibiotics as their cycle is over and I feel very well when lying on the sofa and a little minor burning feeling when walking around. I expect not to take any medications tonight.

Could you have handled a 12 hour flight as well as a 4 hour flight?
Venous Leakage (which I believe caused by my overuse of the Bathmate VED)

I would say, yes. Of course everybody is different but when I was sitting, I had no discomfort or pain, the discomfort is more when you walk or you have to lift a baggage. Now I am at more than 12 hours from the beginning of the trip, even though it is over, I feel no discomfort and limited burning sensations when walking in or around my house. To be totally on the safe safe, let's check how I will feel on day 8, 9 and 10, maybe you just have to add a couple of days to minimize the risk of feeling bad during the flight. Make sure you ask the airline for a security exit seat, so you are not constricted to a single position, while sitting, in which you may feel more discomfort.

Update: day 8 post-surgery.
I am now back home and last night I took two Tylenol 500 before going to bed just to potentially spare me from not sleeping well. Unfortunately, it seems that, even though my discomfort level is low, Tylenol is not able to improve it. So I woke up a couple of times with a burning feeling around the tip of my little beast. Eventually, I managed to sleep many hours but again Tylenol seems to be useless to handle my moderate to low discomfort.
During the day I drove for about 3 hours in total and had food at a local restaurant. I took some Tylenol again, just to notice that it is still useless for my low pain. After 2 hours at the restaurant, I felt that I had to walk to change position, which I did and I felt much better. Then I drove back home and I am lying in bed and that's very comfortable, I feel close to zero discomforts.
I have used a small belt to hold and push my shaft towards my belly and I am using baby socks to protect my little jewel. I also use some lidocaine cream 5% to lower the discomfort that Tylenol is unable to handle.
Overall very happy of the progress, no inflammation, no swelling, so far, so good.

For how long will you have to do this? How is it going into airports traveling w/the D pointed up in the air? Any strange looks or pat downs?

I kept the jock strap for the whole trip plus another 3-4 hours at home before going to bed. So maybe around 12 hours. If the jock strap is the proper size there is nothing visible besides the tip of your penis that can be easily concealed inside wide sport trousers. On top I put a large surf-style t-shirt and the whole thing made it impossible to allow anybody to notice anything "suspicious".

Update: day 9 post-surgery.
Last night I took a combination of two prescriptions drugs that I had tried individually with little or no result and boom the pain and discomfort totally disappeared, I spent a fully night, more than 9 hours, sleeping as an angel. When I woke up I could not tell that I had a surgery, there is absolutely zero pain around. I took the prescriptions a little more than 10 hours ago and I still don't feel any disturbance. I can easily walk around with no strange feelings, not even mild discomfort. NONE of the two prescriptions is an opiod, they actually are drugs that were recently available over the counter, even though to avoid abuse have now been restricted to prescription-only status. I don't like sharing drugs' names by public messages, but if you are interested, I am happy to give you their names in a PM.
My little boy is recovering very well, no sign of external infection, the Incision is starting to blend with the surrounding scrotum area so to become totally undetectable later on.
I can feel the pump and my two balls, there is no apparent attachement between them as somebody had described in other posts, the 3 are totally indipendent. The pump is conveniently placed behind my balls so to be fully concealed, I can feel the release valve too, but I have not played with it as I am still waiting for my surgeon green light, that I don't expect to receive before the incision is considered fully healed, not only externally but internally too.
So far I had no "what I did to my dick" bad feelings and I am actually proud that I managed to go so far 100% solo, I didn't ask for any help to anybody not even my wife. I am mostly relying on this forum other people experience and opinions and I am combining all those information to fit my needs as everyone is different.

Re: Journal Dr Clavell March 09 2022 - Implant + Vasectomy + Ventral Phalloplasty
Update: day 10 post-surgery.
Last night I decided not to take any painkiller and I was able to sleep relaitvekh well. My only concern at this stage is an intermittent burning feeling close to the tip of my penis. Sometime I have a little pain at the scrotum level, the feeling is like external pain not something deep inside, most probably that's related to the suture.
During the day I move freely and as described before I use a belt of variable size that I position to push the shaft toward my belly area (lower abdomen) and I wear large wide trousers and t-shirts, the above makes it impossible for people to detect or notice anything strange, not even a small bulge. Note that I positon the belt on top of my underwear so to avoid unpleasant frictions between belt and penis. I have not used the baby sock anymore as I don't feel any discomfort and I haven't used lidocaine cream anymore for now.
The suture wound is improving everyday, I just noticed a little bruise around 2 cm in size most probably due to the pression against the stitches when I pull the shaft for a whole day with the belt. There is also some sign of skin exfoliation, I guess due to the incision trauma, that's very localized around the wound.
I am still very happy of my choice and I would do it again if I had the choice, actually I feel that I should have done it well before. Of course I have not fully inflated my IPP yet and most importantly I have had not sex yet, that's when I would be able to give a final judgment and an informed opinion over the practical results, so far, so good.

Update: day 11 post-surgery.
Normal night last night, as often I didn't take painkillers, however at around 4:30am I woke up with an uncomfortable burning sensation around the tip of my penis. I spent a couple of hours reading news and eventually I managed to get asleep again without any meds. I woke up at around 11am (Sunday) so I can say that all in all I managed to get a full night of sleep, even though it was with a little interruption. Most probably some meds would have solved the issue sooner but I preferred to spare them for my next two trips, one in about 8 to 10 days and the other one in about 20 days from now, a very long one, about 24 hours including one stop-over for connection.
During the day I was still feeling some burning discomfort especially when pulling my little boy towards my belly, so I took some Tylenol but at no avail. The pain is acute and mild, you can stand it, it is not excruciating but you will need to move, sitting in a car for a long time is painful over a long period of time (more than 30-45 minutes). You can compare the pain to the feeling that you would have if, while fully erected, you try to bend your shaft in the middle but not at the point that it would actually bend, mix it with some burning sensation and you would get a clear picture of what you feel as pain or discomfort.
The suture is closing and I guess that is putting some extra pulling pressure inside and outside and that's causing some mild pain.
The skin is continuing to exfoliate around the suture area, I assume the old skin will fall within the next few days. Note that just a very small portion of my skin will probably fall as I cannot see any sign of skin damaged in most areas. Damaged skins is very localized around the suture area.
I had a little contusion close to the urethra exiting point, it is now totally healed, you cannot see anymore that a hook was inserted to pull the whole thing during the surgery (can you believe it???) .
The scrotum is not particularly painful nor very sensitive, I can feel the two balls and the pump and also the release valve at the point that I could easily try to pump more and/or push the release button. However I would not do it until getting clearance from my surgeon. There is a little area where my right ball seems to be into a "bag" somehow close to the pump like if they where going to attach togheter as it has happened to another FT member. For now I can still easily distinguish, with my fingers, between the 3 objects and hopefully by the time I will need to activate the IPP there will be no "bond" between them. I do understand people when they state that you won't feel moderately well before 2 weeks post surgery. I don't see myself spending a whole day sitting in front of a desk and my pain is mild to moderate, which is exceptional. So be prepared to spend two weeks at home before resuming work activities and that's assuming you are a fast healer like me...

Now that you are almost two weeks in, would you feel comfortable say going to work in an office? Do you think that anyone would noticing. Or would you make up some excuse as "Just had a hernia operation and still healing for a bit longer"?
